So i got the mass effect 2 collectors edition yesterday for the pc. And i must say that i'm a little disapointed this time, not about the story its fine but about the gameplay itself. There are just some anoying flaws(That could have easily been avoided) in this game that makes me wonder what EA, and especially BioWare were thinking.

After the first minutes of gameplay i still had  not figured out what key made sheppard crouch. After checking the key bindings and the internet, i found out that the option to crouch was removed from ME2. Strange but i also know why Bioware made this choice.

When i was trough the first part of the game i went to a armor locker and tried on the collectors armor. It looked cool and everything but the first thing i thought was "I'm not going to play with that helmet on, i want to see my characters face in cinematics" I couldn't find the option that made me toggle of the helmet and found out it doesn't exist after checking the internet again. This realy made me think. Why?! why can the default armor have an option to toggle of the helmet and the collectors armor not(I know there are more armors with the same problem).

I dont know that much about game development but if they can make the option for the default armor why dont they use the same option for the other armors. How hard can this be? I was a bit dissapointed about this but its nothing major. There are enough places to look for cover and i dont HAVE to wear the special armors.

But what i really dont get is why they removed the F1 - F4 buttons that were used to quickly swap your weapons. This was such a usefull feature in ME1, especially when you play as the soldier class. Now i have to pause the game everytime i want to swap weapons which pulls me right out of the action.

I can't come up with one good reason why they would leave this out of ME2. They obviously thought about this because you can swap back to your previous weapon with the X button. But this is not enough for certain classes or play styles.

Will they fix some of these shortcommings with a patch? I hope so, at least give us the weapon swap option with the F-keys. Quick keys to swap weapons in a shooter is a must have.

Will they adjust the special armors so we can remove the helmets? I doubt it since they already said this is not a bug and it is working as intended

Dont get me wrong, i loved ME1 and i like ME2 so far. Most of the gameplay and interface options are good and work fine, some have improved. The story is also great in my opinion. But i just cant understand why BioWare left some really important options out of this game. And i think BioWare knew people would complain about these things when they decided to leave these things out. Are they just slacking? Did they just forget some things?

I could go on forever but, i've made enough of a textwall already. The question that's going trough my mind after playing the first few hours of ME2 is just: What's wrong BioWare?

Thanks for reading trough this huge amount of text ^_^

Sorry friend but you're just saying the same stuff everyone else was 6 weeks ago. For whatever reasons they decreed, Bioware removed such options and appear to have suffered quite a vocal backlash from their fanbase on these forums. At least take comfort in the knowledge these features will most likely be brought back into the next game.

Everything has been said before.

Here is something to laugh (or cry) about the helmet issue. BioWare stated...- wait for it - that its intentional!

You should also play with special armors and experience funny situations such as NPCs recognizing your (hidden) face and reacting to your (hidden) facial expressions and ofcourse drinking and kissing with the helmet on. And always remember, this is not a bug, its intentional!
