DLC - per hard drive or per gamertag?

This is probably a dumb question, I know.

My boyfriend had entered the Cerberus Network Activation code on his gamertag (on the same hard drive) and the DLC installed just fine.
But, when I got on my gamertag and the only DLC I have is the Blood Dragon Armor. I tried entering the code, but it says it's already been used.

Am I doing something wrong?

one card per use, I've heard if you log his in on controller 1 and you log in on controller 2 you can use the DLC, but I'm not a !00%.

If he downloads everything properly on his gamertag, you should be able to access it. You won't be able to 'log in' to the Cerberus Network, but any items downloaded by him will be available to you. My wife plays just fine on her own gamertag with everything I've downloaded.

@Trickfred: Does she have a Live account, or is it just a local account? My wife and I have stuff to download for both ME2 and Dragon Age, and I'll be quite upset if only one of us can access it. I'm cool with linking both of us to the same EA/Bioware account if that's an option, but nobody seems to say one way or the other, after about an hour of searching.

You have to link your gamertag to his EA account.

My wife's gamertag is lIve enabled, not local, but it's not attached to my EA account. Once you have downloaded any ME2/DA DLC on the gamertag with access to it, it acts just like any other thing you download from the marketplace - any gamertag on that console can use it.

I couldn't access the ME2 DLC with a second gamertag until I linked it to the same EA account.

Hey,

Mass Effect 2 DLC on the Xbox follows the same rules and conventions as those for other games.

1. When someone downloads content, it is linked to that gamer tag and that Xbox.
2. Anyone who plays the game on that Xbox will have access to the content.
3. If the person logs in from another Xbox, he or she can download and use the content again, but in that case, the content will be restricted to that person's gamer tag.

The other aspects of the Cerberus Network remain associated with only the gamer tag that redeemed the code.

I always work best from examples, so let's consider the following: Say "A" and "B" share the same Xbox 360 but have different gamer tags (both Xbox Live-enabled). "A" purchases Mass Effect 2 and redeems the Cerberus Network code. The Cerberus Network is then associated with "A" and only "A". "A" then sees the notes and messages that appear on the panels on the right side of the game's start menu and downloads the "Zaeed" pack. "A" restarts Mass Effect 2 (necessary to ensure the new content is properly loaded) and encounters "Zaeed" at the appropriate time in the game. After a great play session, "A" quits the game allowing "B" to start a game of Mass Effect 2. "B" sees that the panels on the right side of the game's start menu are closed (i.e. receives no messages or alerts), but still encounters "Zaeed" at the appropriate time in the game.

That makes sense. I didn't see any DLC available in the menu before linking the second gamertag and didn't bother to go through the whole intro to doublecheck.
