Lighten up, man. Virtually anything humanity does is absurd at some level.
We have a game with girl gamers- fantastic. About time. We have guys on here that like having a go playing female characters - again, fantastic. Why do they wanna play em? For a whole raft of reasons. Read and maybe you will find out.
The OP wanted to bring all the Femshep fans in one place and the ideas for a female Shepard emerged from discussions in this thread - what is wrong with that?
Maybe BW will listen, maybe they won't. That could be said of many of the requests etc on this board.
Its only talk.

Infiltrator Kiria Shepard, a colony kid, earned the Star of Terra for her actions on Elysium.

In fact, I almost always play as a femshep
+1? The last page of this thread has it dangerously close to being derailed.

I'm a guy and I really like the male Shepard character and VA (I always play a maleshep) - the female VA sort of sounds bored to me. But that's my opinion.
But, I wouldn't mind if for ME3 they pushed both the male and female Shepards. Heck, I think it would be cool if in the next game box cover they have maleshep on one side and femshep on the other with cool stuff in the background. I think that would make for an awesome cover. Will it happen - no....should it happen - yes.

Same here; I wasn't aware of that.

Just checked my boxes and no sign of a FemShep. My ME1 box is labelled classic, so maybe mine is a newer version.

I was a little nervous when I first bought ME1 that the female VO would be very... manish. I was very suprised when I heard it.
Anyways, HOORAY! for FemSheps

I don't mind the "canon" Shep being the silly male one, but I wish there was something they did to promote FemShep. I would have purchased ME1 a lot earlier than I did if I had known you could even play as a female. The trailer had me assuming it was just another single player game where you had to play as a the male main character. Of course that could just be chalked up to my bad investigating, had I looked harder I would have seen it was an RPG...

This is exactly the reason I was also a supporter on the old ME boards for either showing both Shepards or leaving the main character off completely. If I hadn't been a BioWare fan for years and years and trusted them, I would not have bought ME. it looked far too much like a shooter - (part of the trust issue edit).
I've bought a couple of games after they had been out for over a year because of this. I don't pick my games strictly on whether or not I can play female, but it does come in to play if it's a game I'm not sure about or I have limited funds for a new game. I want to have the choice and I want to know in advance that I have a choice.
And choice is a great selling point. I just think they are missing out by not showing it.

Theres no such thing as a canon Shepard, what you see in the trailers and stuff is Default Shepard. If that was canon Shepard then that would make the council dead, the Queen dead, Wrex dead and other stuff canon which it is not.

Yeah the default Shepard removes all references to ME 1 that the new players would not understand like Wrex/Rachni, I doubt that even if Bioware would be forced to have a Canon Shepard that they would chooose ME 2's default as it is a watered down background to make the experience for new players easier.

The one good thing about Default is you don't get email spam >_>

Alright. I don't normally do this, but do you have the face code for this one? I like her.
