Played through the first time with a nice guy human mage who was always supportive to the pointg of being at times a personal therapist to the party. I decided to balance that out by playing a more hard edged city elf rogue. I had a couple of questions about character interaction before I begin.
With this new character's personality in mind I thought it would make the most sense to "harden" Alistair's personality after he meets with Goldanna. I loved Alistair's quirkiness and was wondering if hardening him is a significant change in his attitude and if anyone had less fun with him after doing this. Additionally if I wanted the new character to romance Alistair is that less likely with him changed? An elf can't be romantically involved with the new King and I heard hardening him makes him want to be king.
Similarly I figured my character would be a bad influence on Leliana during her crisis of faith. Is she less fun to be around once her bubble of innocence and sweetness has been popped?

Both of their personalities don't change much. Some things change, but not much. Mostly Alistair cares more about his relationship with the Warden than duties if he is hardened. And yes, he wants to be king if you harden him. You can become his consort but not queen if you are so inclined.
And Leliana just doesn't disapprove as much with morally ambiguous decisions.
