Seriously we all saw this as the opening to a new morebobobo878 wrote...
I realize that Morrigan almost managed to show human emotions at the end of the game, but she threw the warden under the bus anyhow.Synnworld wrote...
Oh and the fact she gains feelings for the warden doesn't exist then? Morrigan just didn't want to accept the fact she loved the warden.
beautiful story about the warden searching for his “missing” love. If that is
what you chose to do at the end, but instead I fear bioware will just sit on
it.
I know this isn’t the place, but I also hated how the whole
Flemeth, morrigan, and shapeshifting could easily been built up to add more
beauty to the story. We hear throughout the whole story how morrigan
transformed into this, or flemeth into that, but get screwed over (unless you
got the mod that lets you become just about every creature in game, High Dragon
FTW,) in the long run. I was actually expecting to learn the specialization
from morrigan, but somehow get on Flemeth’s good and she further the training
in shapeshifting, but we all know that isn’t happening. Another thing was how mages really had little
to no dialogue or action in game. Everyone gets so afraid of being turned into
a toad, or Earl fears you may have used magic to get Alistair and Anora to…. But
ultimately we are not given any mythical options; while warriors have intimidation
and rogues have persuade and intimidation.

Morrigan outclasses her across the board, would whup her butt, and smile while doing it.

Morrigan ended up being one of my closest friends and there was mutual trust and friendship. I just didn't get that with Velanna. I just didn't care enough about her at the end.
Edited for possible spoiler.

Comparing her to Morrigan isn't even in the same ballpark....league....hell it isn't even the same sport. If I could launch Velanna into the blasted sun, I would.
Go Morrigan.

But the more you talked to them, the more you appreciated their point of view and the more they warmed up to you. By the end of Origins, I had just about maxed out approval for both of them and they were my favourite party members.
You didn't have all that much interaction with Velanna and 85% of that time, she was really pissed off so it's not surprising she doesn't make a favourable impression. To be honest, Anders was the only Awakenings character I really liked.

Before i got into dragon age everyone was sayin how ****y morrigan was but I found her rather charming and cute. I mean i agree, why do i need to solve everyones problems wernt i the one seeking aid to fight a greater threat? why is any magic not controlled by the chantry bad? of course i disagreed with her assesment of love and emotion but i got the impression even she wasnt totally sold on the subject.

Also is the chantry religion the one true one? I mean there was that women's ashes and all the spirits the served/betrayed her, but there still holds strength of other religions and disbelief.

I gleefully got rid of Velanna by refusing to take her in as a Grey Warden. I told her she wasn't worthy to join and she left for good. I was relieved.

Ok maybe I was mistaken on the winner. Morrigan is not a Bi**h, she is misunderstood by everyone and she does love you at the end just she doesn't want to admit to it. She finds love a weakness and who could blame her, love is a double edge sword, you get hurt one way or another.
Velanna might be a bi**h but she has good reason to. Humans have pushed her people to the edge of extinction, not to mention her sister is missing and she has a right to be angry. She is a nice person once you get to know her and she does cool down depending on choice.

The thing with the Origins companions is that they're so incredibly unique, while I get the feeling in Awakenings it's just random characters.
It's exactly the opposite for me. The Awakening companions seem more interesting and unique, especially Nathaniel Howe, Justice, Sigrun and Anders.
Personally, Velanna strikes me as having very weird facial proportions -- way too large forehead for such a small jaw and chin. It makes one wonder, considering her appearance must have been approved by a great deal of people before being released.

She's biased, yes, but most Dalish seem to be that way - and given the epilogue I had, she's changed 180°.

Once you happen to know Velanna better, she isn't as angry or ****y as before, she changes a lot given the short time you have her around in Awakening - especially the party banter with her and Nathaniel shows this.

Perhaps but I didn't like her enough to want to try. She comes off as worse even than Zathrian cause she REALLY has no need to be so over the top hateful. I can't post more on that without revealing spoilers. Her conversations with Nate just aggravated my dislike to the point I couldn't wait to get rid of her.
Plus her voice was annoying to me. All I heard when she talked was "Angry fishwife".
