You get to pay money to play a DLC where Liara's character is further assassinated and turned into something wretched.

Liara: "Yay we found the Shadow Broker! Let's kill him!"

Shepard: "Alright that's over, you got your revenge, now come with me."

As I mentioned before, there are very few files, which means either this was planted intentionally (Liara DLC doesn't involve killing the Shadow Broker, but just identifying or finding him) or left in there forgetfully (Liara DLC does involve killing the Shadow Broker).

Michael Gamble once stated that the DLCs give them a second chance to reevaluate how the mission should actually turn out, as with the Kasumi DLC that is coming soon. They could very well change the intention of this DLC - but if they don't, then we've all been spoiled anyway, so it doesn't matter anymore to us.



I mean, they could have had Ali Hillis record a line for Liara that says "Shepard, these datapads tell me that you're a Reaper!" and leave it in the game files for the fun of it.

...I wish they'd do that. For every game.

EDI's processors can't handle plot-armor of that size and complexity.

EDI can't but on the other hand i think Legion can handle it .

They'd probably write it so that Liara has some excuse for not handing it over to EDI or Legion.

Dragon Age Origins was great, the way the rushed the Awakening DLC Awakening expansion in an unprecedented amount of time was not though.

It is. We'll probably have to kill Liara at some point of ME3 if that's the case. Perhaps she'll betray us halfway through.

According to the audio files "the Shadow Broker's agents now report to me, knowingly or unknowingly" so they intended her to become the new SB...but I think they left those files in just to see the reaction from fans before they decide exactly how to implement it. Sooo there is a very good chance it will no longer play out that way.
