What the hell is wrong with BioWare !!!

Even as a simple information broker she's already starting to sound a lot like she's constipated her mother, who suffered from impacted bowels the effects of indoctrination.

Maybe Liara is also being indoctrinated by a Reaper? Then we'd be trying to save her instead of kill her in the next game.

bioware has the chance to rectify the poor handling of LIs...lord knows we have complained eloquently about it...now we will see if Bioware listened or not....but it appears they did not truly, of course I might be wrong since we have only a very few audio files

My post has a completely different meaning when the strikeouts aren't there.

You suddenly disappeared from the subject after it got heated " So we checked for Organ donor card "
and we found one , lol :P

Its for real, but I imagine, like Kasumi's current dialogue, it will probably be replaced. The result of the DLC dialogue (Liara shadowbroker, ostensibly to help with the Collectors) is stupid as you can complete your mission without even paying attention to Liara at all. More than that, the "threat" from the Shadowbroker is nonexistant for Shepard and barely there for Liara. If the SB wanted Liara dead, she likely already would be.

lol so true

still

I read once in an article on GI (written by a developer) that oftentime thee reason why developers do not "listen" to the fans and do not communicate to the fans is that

1: fans tend to express themselves poorly. Their comments are often limited to "TEH SUXXORZ" and "OMG AWEZUM"

2: anything a developer says will be taken out of context and used against them by the fans themselves and by the specialized media

now the second part does not interest us right now, The first part tho is more relevant. Anyone who has  read through the support threads and in particular the 3 huge Liara threads knows that there were hundreds of multi paragraphs posts explaining just way people felt ripped off, turned away and did not care anymore about remaining faithful to the previous LI (expecially Liara ). I think that qualifies as  enough for the developers to understand just why people are disappointed and to formulate a plan to solve this.

now Bioware can

1: aknowledge this and rectify it in the Liara DLC to at least make it LOOK LIKE there was a relationship (right now short of the kiss the relationship could have never existed)

or

2: keep doing what they are doing now and high five each other saying "we is tracking the cheatorz"

so far option #2 seems more likely

Since it's possible Liara becomes the Shadow Broker, I suggest people who had her as a love interest in ME1 make sure they have a version of ME2 without a love interest.

You'd hate to have a jilted Liara spreading rumors to the galaxy using her Shadow Broker connections about the size of your manhood.

You get enough male enhancement messages as it is!

IF Liara has Shepard kill the Shadow Broker and
IF Liara becomes the new Shadow Broker and
SINCE we already know who Liara is...

Wouldn't she just be the Broker?

You make a good point we eliminated the collectors , but it might come as a surprise .. I mean we also recruited Zaeed Massani after we finishing the suicide mission same goes for Kasumi ( When she is available ) .
I was surprised she survived this long almost for two years " Her Own Assistance Was One Of His Biggest Agents "
and if she needed a dead person to hack a computer for her " Because She Can't Trust Anyone " How did she made it that far ??
I agree with you , no matter how powerful and skilled she was her chance of surviving while hunting The Shadow Broker was a lot lower than your chance surviving the suicide mission .

If I need to go through another Revan/Bastilla style "I love you, don't make me kill you" dialog in the Liara DLC or ME3, I'm going to send a bag of dog poo to Bioware. Because, that's only fair since that's what they sent me!

Yes , she made a lot of choices and WE appreciate what she did , but I've had enough of this nonsense I'm not leaving her running around killing people even if what they did was wrong they deserve a chance to explain and atone
for what we did I speak for myself  ( Killing was never my way in Mass Effect ) .
If Zaeed Massani had a little chat with her he'll realize hes a spiritual leader .

I was with you until that last line. Where the hell did Zaeed come from? I literally felt a smack on my cheek when I read it.

I just assumed that she's had a tenuous grip on her sanity at best ever since she got trapped in Prothean ruins for however many weeks I was off chasing Saren, then had her life's work stolen from her once she finally got freed.  Without Shepard around to keep her in line, she went full-on nutters.

Of course, that really only works if you enjoy torturing Liara like I do.

Heh, I am doing a playthrough in ME1 and going for that.  I just want to see the reaction.

If any of BioWare employees bothered to check any of our posts , they'll realize that they need to change the Dialogue with Liara or at least add something new to make up for this ruined surprise .

We don't know for sure about Kasumi yet though. Right now all her dialogue is done by Khalisah bint Sinan Al-Jilani, Westerlund News.

Liara is almost 109 years old which means she will be the most dangerous person to hand the Shadow Broker MOST POWERFUL weapon to .

She still have maybe more than 1000 years to master the art of information collecting " She will be very powerful without The Shadow Broker's info imagine what she is going to be with that much of informations" as an individual she is one of the few people who saw and been through what Shepard been through .

If it comes to this I wish i will have the option to put her down ..

So...IS she the new information broker or isn't she? The DLC has not been released? Is this all speculation?

I think it would be a very interesting turn of events.

I like the reporter!  Maybe we can play matchmaker in ME 3 and hook her up with Conrad Verner...two annoying characters who find each other.Posted Image

Look at it in the context of the Reaper War.  Yeah, she has a lot of potential, but wasting resources fighting the SB's organization when extinction is around the corner seems shortsighted.  Unless it is proven that the SB is working for the Reapers (which seems unlikely as in the comics he seems to just love money$$$), why kill what could be an important ally?

If this is what the DLC entails, then BioWare have come up with the ultimate masochism for Liara fans.
You get to pay money to play a DLC where Liara's character is further assassinated and turned into something wretched.

Liara: "Yay we found the Shadow Broker! Let's kill him!"

Shadow Broker: "Blarg I am dead."

Shepard: "Alright that's over, you got your revenge, now come with me."

Liara: "No I am the Shadow Broker now! I have power! UNLIMITED POWER! HAHAHAHA!"

Shepard: "-_-;"

You have to admit... it would be funny to watch the flames of rage...:o

If Liara starts wearing a dark robe and saying:
Liara: "The Council will be REFORMED into a new Galactic Empire!!!"
Shepard: YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!

Then we should worry.

With respect, I kinda hope she will become the new shadow broker. It would be a surprising twist that no one saw coming. Sometimes that stuff happens in stories. It is what makes characters compelling...or at least interesting.

I admit, it would be a brave choice and full of interesting plot opportunities.  Liara consumed by the dark side or will she really turn the whole organization around for good?

Perhaps even a confrontation with Liara if you don't play the game right...yikes.

Or maybe you choose between the new SB, Liara, or Cerberus and TIM as your mentors/advisors/information source.

I support Martin Sheen, being a Latino though.  Sorry Liara...but I already gave him the Base anyway...Posted Image

Yeah, I mean Revan was given a second chance, a character I loved (female Revan). Liara could travel completely down that dark path and still be redeemed. Look at Saren. Shepard was (paragon) still willing to offer Saren a chance even after all he had done.

You can kill him in a way in Mass Effect 2 if you want ( Conrad will storm off unhappily if Shepard tells Conrad to "Get lost" (Renegade option) when first
talking to him in the bar. Eventually, while walking through Illium, a
news report will say Conrad has gotten himself killed.

If you choose The (Paragon Option) Conrad will praise Shepard and thank the Commander for returning from
the dead, then leave. After that, it is reported on the news that Conrad
has formed a charity foundation for the needy called "Shepard's".

Anyways , I think he have a hot wife .. The blessing that most idiots have .

It could be heavily dependent upon whether or not liara was a LI, if shep cheated on her, or if Shep chose someone else in ME... then add on whether or not Shep was PAR or REN and if Liara learned by example... it could really be interesting in ME depending on the character choices.
