Second edit: But I DO have faith in the modding community!
Yes.........this. Once again, it's up to the modders to save the day. It should be pretty easy to remedy. I can't believe they cut something as simple as this from the story. it's not like it would have added a terrible amount of data and memory. I mean, text. To know where your beloved went. WTF?

lol they could have added several cutscenes and not been worried about running out of memory space on the disc lol.Skadi_the_Evil_Elf wrote...

However, there's no excuse for not including the letters.

Maybe the epilogues were in place just if you never played anything else? To tie up loose ends in the game. At least for me my Cousland was married to Alistair and being he was king had kingly things to do (Some trouble in the Bannorn) explaining why he was leaving/trusting his wife to take care of Amaranthine and the troubles there. Kinda crappy you didn't get much if you romanced someone else (I have yet to play my Cousland boy so I don't know yet what the letter will say if you get it at the beginning?)
Seems to me if my girl had time to run around solving every little petty squabble and hunt down flowers for that crazy botanist I would have had time for a little romancing (If I had been with Zev or Leli). So far (About halfway to two thirds through the game) I am seeing not a lot of darkspawn threat going on. Have been dealing with a bloodmage/abomination and a crazed mage attacking the caravans in the woods. Starting to think like Morrigan "Let them solve their own damn problems"

Star Wars was the same way with a "dark" chapter that ended with a lot of questions (Revenge of the Sith doesn't imply a nice happy movie for the good guys). Loose ends and unanswered questions are definitely bringing me back for DAO and ME because I can't wait to see just how this is all going to play out. How will the hero and their party come out of this? I sure want to know.

No. The epilogues are the epilogues. And the letters were apparently cut from the game. The thing is, with Zev, Lel, and non-King Alistair, if you selected to rebuild the grey wardens, they were supposed to stay with you, never leaving your side. Obviously THAT couldn't happen (no one really expected it I don't think). The Zevran letter, though, refers to events that happen if you do the Ultimate Sacrifice. /shrug. It's not that big a deal.

Well, I'm sure the devs don't really care about fangirl rantings anyway. But still, it was disappointing. Though Zev's letter IS fabulous so I pretend I got it!

I don't understand why little things like this can't be included. So much work went into these characters in Origins and then just to have them go "poof," when it would really not take much to keep their fans happy. I mean, I'm a total squee-wh*re. It would only take one line from Zevran to make the 40 bucks seem worth it.
DItto. For me, the little scene with King Alistair talking to my Cousland was enough to make me content about the whole thing and came off as very realistic. Even if they recast Zevran and Leliana they should have had at least one little cut scene saying they were off to do something as they DO have other things they will do if you don't say "Hey come with me" at the end. And I would not expect them to devotedly follow the PC around like a mabari, they had their own lives romanced or not and the Blight was over. Maybe Zev had to deal with the Crows urgently (or if you didn't kill her, Leli has to deal with Marjolaine or failing that something could come up where she has to clear her name with the Orlesians). Something...anything except this non appearance. These guys at Bioware are excellent writers they could have come up with SOMEthing.

A letter from Leliana
Dearest,
I hope you are well. Alas, I am unable to come to the keep as I promised. I am so sorry, but the Grand Cleric herself wishes to speak with me. I will tell you all about it once I have had my audience.
Is it true the darkspawn have not retreated? No matter, I'm sure you have it under control. Wish I could be there, killing darkspawn beside you. Perhaps you could save some for me? (All right, that was a joke. Do not spare them. That would be silly.)
You are always in my thoughts.
Love, Leliana
PS Maybe you could consider growing some roses around your keep? That would make it so much prettier, don't you think?
There you go. If anyone doesn't want spoilers, they shouldn't come to this forum in the first place. It's not much of a spoiler anyway, since the devs couldn't be arsed to include it in the game.
