I understand now the no romance and no ties to your past companions in Awakening now, and I guess now that I've done a playthrough I'm fine with it. In fact, my epilogue had my warden going back to Leliana like he intended to after Origins. As for the no romance, I felt no reason to be upset simply because this time around you are all Grey Wardens. You share a different bond, that of comrades in arms and the burden of the taint. I guess to sum it up, it did feel like an "emergency situation" to me that justified no romance/time to contact old pals.

I get that feeling, too. I can sort of rationalize it that way, but I still feel as if certain areas feel a bit rushed, but overall a good gaming experience, if not as "GREAT" as DA:O. Its certainly no Throne of Bhaal level expansion either...
