Well, there's definitely a good chance someone TIM cares about will die. What was the lady's name? I remember her from the five-page preview. And now I'm going to wonder what that thing in the picture with Saren is for the next three months.

I hope this makes it as the game over screen for people who didn't trust TIM.
How can anyone think ill of Trevolta Illusive Man after seeing that?

SPOILERS AHEAD! So don't read this if you don't want to know.
- TIM is awesome. That's not really a spoiler though... I'm sure everyone here knows that. As always, he's the man with the plan, and the guy who manages to remain calm. Ben really wanted to kill all the turians, and TIM has to remind him that they need to get information. Ben and Eva both joined up with TIM because they lost people in the war. (So far, I don't think either one is in a romantic relationship with Eva. Ben wants to be, but TIM tells him "if you were any younger, she'd adopt you.")
- Zulu was right about "The Man" being General Williams. He shared a drink with TIM and told himabout the planned retreat. They know that the turians are looking for something, so TIM convinces Williams to give them 20 hours to find out what it is.
- The turian TIM captured is a General named Desolas. TIM comes up with a plan to find out where the rest of his squad is - he created a hologram that looked and sounded like Desolas and sent it as a message to his Lietenant. They ambushed the turians, but didn't kill them. They wanted to find what the turians were looking for, so TIM and Ben went into the cave, leaving Eva to watch the turians with the Mako-looking vehicle Williams gave them.
- That thing the turians were looking for? It shoots lightning and creates husks - bigger and stronger than the husks we're used to seeing in the games, and they're turian. Ben tried to touch it (just like the Prothean beacon in ME1, because these people will never learn), and TIM tried to pull him away. Ben died, and the lightning did something to TIM's eyes (it didn't say exactly what yet). Eva comes running in after them, and when she was distracted, the turians took over. They captured TIM and Eva, and they're going to dissect Ben for study.

I wonder if the shot of lightning that hit TIM's eyes is what gave them the appearance they have now (I have seen comparisons on the forums of TIM's eyes and husks), or if it only caused himto need a cybernetic replacement. Judging by one of the later covers that shows lightning coming out of his eyes, I might guess that they were changed by the husk machine. He looked like he escaped just in time, because Ben looked even more husk-like (glowing eyes, and the skin on his face started to tear and show blue underneath).

*Possible Spoilers*
I'm interested to see what will be said with regard to his eyes and that event in general. Can only imagine what T.I.M. and the Turians would(will) find (or do) in that situation.

More spoilers:
I'm wondering if that might be their first encounter with Reaper tech. The turians were looking for it, but the humans didn't know it was there and even TIM said he had never seen anything like it. He figured out that the chains were used to drag it into the cave because the trail was still there, and the tower interfered with their communications (he tried to call General Williams). TIM also suggested that the turian husks might be "fully evolved."
Volume 1 ended with TIM possibly being unconscious.

The only problem I have with TIM is that he appears to think we humans are superior to every other species, and therefore deserve to rule over them. Doubt I'd mind his methods at all if he were more accepting of other sapient species.
That is also my issue. In the books he always goes on about how humans have "Alien Masters" despite the fact that humanity is more accepted and deeply delved into the galactic society than races that have been there for hundreds, if not thousands of years. By the time that Anderson/Udina are on the Council humans are pretty much equal to the other races.

TIm's eyes always suggested husk to me, and given what's happened it doesn't seem too off the mark.
The art is better than Redemption I think.

I mean Shepard is Luke, and the Reapers (Harbinger, if you need personification) are the Emperor.
So in the end it will be TIM who defeats the Reapers at the cost of his life, after Shepard has shown him the errors of his ways...
Alternatively (renegade ending) Shepard can join TIM for good and after they defeat the Reapers together, they will rule the Galaxy (like Darth Vader proposed to Luke once).
Alternatively (bad ending) Shepard kills TIM and joins the Reapers (like the Emperor proposed to Luke), his concsiousness is transfered to the Human-Reaper, while the Galaxy gets reaped.

Interesting ideas. I'd like the option for Shepard to stay with Cerberus, so #2 is my favorite. #1 would be a good redemption ending for TIM, and #3 sounds like a "Shepard becomes Saren" ending.

The #3, as I see it, would more resemble the end of Ep. 3, with Anakin turning into Vader. This would probably be a hint, that Shepard-Reaper may in the future become a "rogue" Reaper (which, I believe Sovereign was).
BTW, Liara could be kind of like Leia, if my suspicion is right, that she's been a lot more tied to TIM ever since Redemption, than she lets on, and thus may become TIM's enother option to support his bid for the Galactic rule (if he defeats the Reapers, but is not "redeemed" and Shepard does not join him, or is dead).

I didn't think Liara would be the type to help TIM rule the galaxy, but I guess it's hard to say. Liara's character changes a lot. She does seem willing to work with him until the Reapers are defeated, at least. The #3, as I see it, would more resemble the end of Ep. 3, with Anakin turning into Vader. Actually, on a symbolic level, yes. TIM is the only reason Shepard is alive in ME2.
BTW, compare:
In ME1, Shepard had a few run-ins with Cerberus, which was portrayed as plain evil. But Shepard doesn't meet TIM until ME2. In New Hope, Vader is also shown as plain evil, and Luke does not meet him in person.

It also seems to be implied that the "plain evil" Cerberus teams were rogue, and their actions were not supported by TIM. I believe them about most of it. Not sure about Akuze though, and it's one of the few they didn't try to deny (or mention at all).BTW, compare:

I wonder, if TIM really did order any of that, would he be honest about it if a loyal Shepard asked? My first thought says "no," but he didn't have a problem admitting that he sent Shepard into a trap because he had a good reason. If he ordered the experiments, he would have believed there was a good reason for that too.

I believe, that he was aware of it all, but was always taking measures to provide himself with deniability and a cover-up story for the more scrupulous of his associates. That is: the "We're rogue" logs were planted by the disposal team he sent after the Teltin project went awry.Kim Shepard wrote...
