That's a really cool image of TIM. I don't remember that scene. When does it happen?

I just got Evolution #2 and it has a lot of TIM information. I'll post it all here for you guys like last time.

EVOLUTION SPOILERS!

- I know this part is in the preview, but I just wanted to point out that TIM was in a coma for weeks after coming into contact with the artifact, and he had visions during that time. When he talks to General Williams later, he describes them just as Shepard did with the Prothean beacon visions - darkness, destruction, the future.

- His eyes don't seem to be changed at this point. They look the same as always, not cybernetic or husk-like, aside from when he had the Reaper vision (it appears that his eyes were reflecting the vision, but that might have been for dramatic effect). Anyway, we know why TIM believed in Shepard and the Reapers when no one else would - on some level, he knew. Also, shirtless TIM fanservice for the ladies. Anyone who doesn't have the comic can see it in the preview.

- TIM can understand the turian husks when Desolas speaks with them, and even speaks back in the same language. Desolas wants to study him more, but General Williams won't allow Desolas to take TIM back. Later on, TIM also speaks in asari.

- Okay, I know this isn't TIM-related, but I just had to say it... General Williams, why would you make all of your soldiers wear Phoenix armor? xD General Williams tells Desolas (General Arterius, Saren's brother) that the cease-fire was not his idea and he'd be happy to fight it out. After TIM and Eva are returned to him, he tells TIM that he's resigning because the Alliance wants them to suck up to the turians got get favor with the Citadel and he "can't get on board with that," but he doesn't want TIM to quit.

- TIM says that the turian husks told Desolas that the artifact was calling to them, and TIM wants to check it out. General Williams gives him and Eva his own ship. TIM falls down on his way to the ship, still weak from whatever the artifact did to him, and tells Eva that he could hear it calling too. Later, when they get closer to the artifact (which TIM just knew was on Illium), TIM says he's feeling better. That's kind of a bad sign... it's likely that TIM could be slightly indoctrinated, but there's no way to know for sure.

- On Illium, TIM is confident in humanity's ability to adapt and improve. He says that all of the advanced technology will soon be figured out by humans, and mass-produced new and improved. He also quotes Clarke's third law - "a sufficiently advanced technology is always going to look like magic," and as long as they remember that, they don't have to fear it. Eva asks what he's afraid of, and TIM answers that he's afraid some of it might actually be magic (thinking of the visions, no doubt).

- TIM has a lot of theories about the artifact. He already suspects that it isn't turian technology, and that the turians don't know much more about it than they do, except for the fact that they all know it's dangerous. He suggests that it might he a weapon they don't want anywhere near their home (Palaven) - that's why they brought it to Illium, and Shanxi first, because they wanted to study it. He also knows that's the reason the turians didn't want humans on Shanxi.

- To find out more about the artifact, TIM looked it up on the extranet. That's right, everything can be found online. xD He asked around and someone told him where to meet them. It was a trap set by Saren, who didn't fully expect TIM but said that Desolas knew he would come looking. TIM seemed to suspect it was a trap too - he thought the information-giver might be looking for him, and planned to trap the turians (before Saren showed up with four turian husks behind him).

- The comic ends with TIM fighting Saren and the turian husks, then being caught and held up by husk-Ben. For some reason, he stops Eva from attacking. Emotion overpowered logic here, perhaps? It's his old friend, but obviously trying to kill him.

So has anyone ever brought up Robert Herjavec here? He's a businessman and venture capitalist who looks, IMO, exactly like the Illusive Man.

Wow, he looks like a combination of TIM and another character I know. I've never heard of him though.

That's because TIM and that other character are long lost twin brothers.

So... that would make TIM's long-lost twin brother an FBI agent. Awesome.

One last thing about the comic that I forgot. Not exactly a spoiler, but in case anyone wanted to know about TIM's vitals, they're the same as a first-year cadet. General Williams tells him that.

This reminded me of how similar Martin Sheen's character in the movie Firestarter is to TIM. Both work in an organization that performs morally questionable experiments that increase the power of humans. Both have similar names, Harper and Hollister. Hopefully, Hollister is the only one who gets "indoctrinated" in the end.

...I just realized something. Can't believe I missed it before.

Evolution Spoilers

TIM's eyes do have their ME2 cybernetic look in one picture, a close-up when he's being held by husk-Ben.

I wouldn't panic about TIM's trasformation yet. I bet it'll end as soon as the artifact goes up.

Yeah, TIM probably couldn't be indoctrinated if he's fighting the Reapers now. He must have escaped before the artifact "assumed control." I worry more about Saren's brother than anyone else, because I know it has to end badly for him.

Spoilers

When I was reading another thread, I saw an interesting comparison between TIM and Renegade Shepard. Both of them got visions from Reaper/Prothean technology after trying to pull a teammate away from it. (Why does everyone want to step closer to the creepy alien tech anyway?) Both of them chased after an Arterius brother for Reaper information. Both of them were given an awesome ship to do this by an Alliance soldier who recently resigned/stepped down as leader of the team. And both of them, obviously, want to save humanity.

It's kind of funny, because I always saw Shepard and Saren as the most obvious comparison. Maybe Shepard is a combination of the two, or TIM and Saren just have more in common than they think.

What I really dislike about the comic is that both TIM and Saren are made to be "superheroes" in the classical sense of the word: guys with super-natural abilities magically acquired through contact with a weird thingy.

This only detracts from the fascination with the both characters, since it's now not like they got to be what they've been due to their own innate qualities.

But I suppose, that's just me.

Spoilers

As far as we know, Saren never came into contact with the artifact. He doesn't even seem to know as much about it as his brother. He doesn't have any supernatural abilities yet, and chances are that he won't by the end of the comic either. By the time of Revelation, Saren still fought like a soldier with no biotics, called Sovereign "alien" technology and still thought it was nothing more than a powerful ship.

I can see what you're saying about TIM, but the way I look at it, he was already awesome before contact with the Reaper tech. Only an intelligent and incredibly strong-willed person would be able to do anything with all that knowledge. At this point, that's the only thing we know for sure that the monolith gave him. He hasn't used any powers yet.

It's not just you. I would have preferred TIM to be the great genius manipulator without the help of a quasi-magical alien device. I don't mind technological help, but it should be made, or at least understood, by the person it is applied to.

Not so sure about Saren, though. His encounter with Sovereign marked the beginning of his downfall while exactly *not* giving him superpowers.

Do TIM's skills definitely stem from the artifact then? I thought he was meant to be an extremely wealthy tycoon beforehand which suggests some degree of skill in manipulations and the like. I haven't read the comics, btw.

Great pic, Aeowyn.

The artifact gave TIM visions similar to Shepard's about the Reapers, and the ability to speak in alien languages. He can also feel the artifact calling and know its basic location (Illium). His intelligence and leadership skills were there before the artifact. Before contact with it, he was able to set up traps against turian military teams, and General Williams has a lot of trust and respect for him. I have no idea if he was wealthy by this point though.

Who knew? T.I.M. is a Hipster.

Find it interesting that Shepard and T.I.M. have the Artifact in common at this point.

Evolution #3 preview.

SPOILERS

Those husks are definitely more advanced. Ben seemed to recognize TIM and Eva. Not sure if that's a good thing though (from the Reapers point of view).

I just got Evolution #3 today, so here's some more TIM information.

SPOILERS!

- Not sure if this is really plot-important, but they seem to have changed the color of TIM's eyes to brown. Maybe it's just to make his blue monolith-effected eyes more obvious, but he has blue eyes all through the first comic too. It wouldn't be the first time a random character design change happened in Evolution though.

- TIM, along with Eva, are the first humans to see Palaven. And TIM is analyzing everything, from the way Desolas acts to turian politics. He's much more level-headed than Eva, even though he did have a bit of an outburst after being recaptured. He also questions Ben about the artifact (yeah, Ben can talk normally now), and says that he can feel/hear it in his mind.

- After being locked in a room will walls covered in that language the turian husks speak, TIM's eyes glow blue and he says that he figured out the truth. He doesn't tell us what the truth is though, but he wants to tell Desolas (probably to stop his crazy plan).

I gotta say I am NOT liking this comic at all, I mean I was excited to learn about TIM but had my reservations as most comic books especially Video-Game/TV/Movie tie-in comics tend to suck and be poorly written. And ME: Evolution seems to be no different, I mean lets take out the fact that I dislike the whole TIM getting weird eyes and alien intelligence from a monolith, as opposed to simply being naturally smart and learning it all on his own. But the fact is the comic is just poorly written and presents glaring plotholes and nonsensical responses from characters.

Lets just take Issue 2 for example:
-Ok TIM or Jack wakes up from a Coma and the "war" is over. Right okay thats fine, but then he is returned to General Williams and blah blah the General gives him a ship to go find out whats going on. Alright so then Jack says to Eva "We gotta go to Illium". Woah, slow down there buddy, how do you know what Ilium is? How do you know where it is? You realize Humans have only encountered the Turians at this point and have no knowledge of the wider galaxy, and you have just been in a coma for the entire war, so wtf are you talking about? Ok so lets say the monolith gave him knowledge of Illium, but wait hold on Eva seems to know exactly where Illium is and how to get to it, do you see the problems already? Eva even says its out near the Terminus Systems, how does she even know what that is?

-Eva herself is a major problem because she is just full of nonsensical responses and interactions, I mean lets just continue when they are on Illium, first off Jack starts speaking Asari (obviously knowledge gained by the monolith) and she just gives a sarcastic whip and doesnt press the issue further. Hello, he is speaking an Alien Language that he has had no knowledge or contact with, maybe you should be a little bit more concerned and interested. Then Jack starts using the extranet to find out where the monolith (a really sorry and sloppy excuse of a plot device), which brings us to another dumb plot hole: Ok either A. The Extranet is some new technology that Jack is able to understand through the monolith, in which case we again see how unengaged Eva is as this seems perfectly normal to her or B. Aliens have the same type of Extranet as Humans do despite never coming in contact with us. So pick one, both show the bad writing here.

I mean this is one of the glaring problems with the comic despite being set in a time when Humans are just discovering other Aliens, all the characters act as though they know everything as we do as Gamers having played the games set decades after the comic. Humans are able to communicate with Turians, use and know of Alien technology such as transmitters, know about planets they shouldnt, and dont at all get freaked out when they encounter a new species such as the Asari on Illium. I think TIM deserves better than what I have previously seen from these comics, idk maybe they will get better Issue 3 wasnt terrible but wasnt a whole lot better.

Am I the only one that thinks this?
