Nah, not you Ash. :P

Well, if my 360 hadn't decide to bail, I'd be playing ME2 again. Waiting to see what Microsoft will be charging me to fix it, going to assume $100+. Guess it's back to my plan of putting the original Fallout onto the laptop later.

@Beresaad: I'm glad Bioware left his character to that end. Everyone forms their own opinion of him, aside from a purely "Paragon/Renegade Shepard" standpoint. So many theories, so little time.

Hmmm.

How many of you decided to give the base to TIM?

That would be me.

Actually, to be specific, I want with the Paragon ending on my first playthrough, after much waffling back and forth.

Unfortunately, the result was that I was hit with the Disapproving Stare. (!)

As I am possessed of a willpower strength roughly the equivalent of rice paper, I wound up feeling horribly guilty, hit reload, and have been handing the base over to Cerberus in every subsequent playthrough.

At least with that character.

The more I think about it, the more sense Legion's comment seems to make: "Shepard-Commander, this facility is data. It has no inherent ethical value. Destroying it will not return those lost. Keeping it may save others."

Mind you, I'm 99% certain the decision is going to come back to bite me in the ass, but... eenh. I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

Okay. That made me laugh.

On topic - In my half dozen playthroughs, I've given TIM the base twice.

lol Ashwraith. I see. And I too have the feeling giving the base to him will come back to bite us.

But, ah well I've given him the base in 4 of my 5 playthroughs.

I gave the base to TIM in my first playthrough, but the Shepard in my second playthrough is a Sole Survivor who hates Cerberus. It'll be hard to not hand over the base, even though I have more Shepards who would keep it than those who would destroy it.

I would have given T.I.M. the base on a second or third playthrough. (Had my 360 not died, of course. After finishing ME2, I went back and played another round of ME for a while.)

First Playthrough: Decided in ME that I wanted to go with a strictly Paragon Shepard (Spacer/War Hero/Soldier.) In ME2, following that path, didn't want to put up with Cerberus because of their "old shenanigans," regardless. (Yeah... T.I.M. adoration and personal feelings put aside. Sad, I know.)

I'm not looking forward to watching that Sole Survivor Shepard of mine destroy the base (he'll also let the Cerberus crew and Miranda die, but that's nothing... the sad part is upsetting TIM). I have one Shepard who will be totally loyal to TIM and sell Legion to Cerberus to make up for it though.

Ha, I love it. ;)

I don't know why I just noticed this now, but, I do tend to space out sometimes...

Taken from the Illusive Man MEWiki:

"Mass Effect: Retribution is the third Mass Effect novel, written by Drew Karpyshyn and set for release in July 2010. Karpyshyn has clarified that it is set after the events of Mass Effect 2."

"Retribution is set in the universe fans know well from the video game and novel series — one in which humanity has explored the very farthest reaches of the universe, only to discover the ruthless Reapers, a race bent on extinguishing all organic life.

One man is bent on discovering the Reapers' secrets, the mysterious Illusive Man, the leader of a pro-human, black ops group, Cerberus. And he's devised the perfect plan: implant a human subject with Reaper technology in order to study the enemy.

He also has the perfect test subject — Paul Grayson, an ex-Cerberus operative. Grayson betrayed Cerberus in order to save his daughter. So when Grayson is kidnapped and made the subject of Cerberus' evil experiments, the Illusive Man will finally have his revenge..."

(Humor me here, I know the book isn't out yet and has yet to be seen. :P But...)

(That's all that I could think of.)

I dislike TIM as a person, but he is a really interesting character. TIM for ME3!

Thanks much, Valttu. :)

Also, new topic of discussion (if you're so inclined) in first post. See Dr. Evil (above) for my response. :P Anyone feel like taking it to a more serious level, have at it.

I'll definitely buy Retribution when it comes out. :D There's only... three-and-a-half months to go? (Or my math could be wrong on that.) It'll be interesting to see how Cerberus catches Grayson, the effects of those Reaper implants, and if any of this has an impact on ME3.

It would be interesting to see or the characters from the books in ME3 or at least have them mentioned. For example seeing Grayson and Kahlee Sanders. :s

Depending on what happens in Retribution, it might be interesting if Grayson or Kahlee decides to help out the Shepards who left Cerberus. :) That's probably too much to hope for, but it could work.

Oh, that would be nice for Paragons. And ah it may be too far fetched, but we can always hope.

I'd like to see it happen, even though Shepard will probably just end up going back to the Alliance or the Council if he/she left Cerberus. The Paragon Shepards need someone on their side who believes them about the Reapers, or else something like this would happen...

Shepard: Sorry about destroying the base... The Alliance doesn't trust me, and the Council continues to deny the Reaper threat. I didn't really think this through. Can I join Cerberus again?

Illusive Man: Welcome back. *is secretly thinking about hitting Shepard over the head with Collector base debris*

Ha. Yea. I hope that if we decided to give the base to TIM that we aren't "forced" to go back to the Alliance. I want to at least have the option of staying with Cerberus or returning to the Alliance.

Also wasn't the datapad Joker gave to Shepard at the end supposed to be some form of evidence of the Reapers or something? I'm going out on limb here and guessing it is.

I think having both options would be best. Some of my Shepards would like to stay with Cerberus (even one of the Sole Survivors). I wonder what happens to the Shepards who told off the Council and quit Cerberus - they left themselves with no options, unless one or both sides will offer to take them back.

It probably is, but then again, the Council thought Sovereign was a geth ship...

I just support wearing that sweet as* suit as casual wear.

I'll probably buy the book, too. Just need to catch up on the other two first. Would like to see how they characterize him.

More support of the suit. Very nice.

You know there's a good chance they're gonna make us chose between the Alliance/Council and Cerberus/TIM. I hope they don't make it a paragon/renegade option. I'd like to see something more complicated.

Chosing for one side or another should come with their own distinctive perks and their own tough decisions and personal sacrifices.
Which side you choose should also give a different reaction in the universe. Each side should come with their own NPCs (they too pick sides), technology and weaponry.

But I'll be pleased if TIM comes back and I hope he won't be a villain but someone who offers you a tough choice with no easy answers.

I think he'll be interesting as a LI, I doubt it'll end pretty though, probaly ends up like Mornith romance but more bloody. I think he'll be an interesting character to romance if you're going down the renegade path. But hopefully, there will be more of him be in ME3 so I can kick his ass, he is an interesting character. And I wonder what the sun behind him going from glowing red to white means? Is he responsible for the suns dying? If he is, that'll make him extremely dangerous in ME3.

I was Shepard.

I used TIM to forward my Paragon ends.

Now I have discarded him.

I read somewhere that he is/can be but that it ends your game if you pursue it.  Femshep, I think.
