You know there's a good chance they're gonna make us chose between the Alliance/Council and Cerberus/TIM. I hope they don't make it a paragon/renegade option. I'd like to see something more complicated.

Chosing for one side or another should come with their own distinctive perks and their own tough decisions and personal sacrifices.
Which side you choose should also give a different reaction in the universe. Each side should come with their own NPCs (they too pick sides), technology and weaponry.

But I'll be pleased if TIM comes back and I hope he won't be a villain but someone who offers you a tough choice with no easy answers.

I would like to see something like this happen in ME3. I never thought about the NPCs choosing sides before, but that's an interesting idea.

@Nu-Nu: I don't think a TIM romance would end worse than the one with Morinth. There would be a chance of Shepard getting betrayed (most likely if she makes the wrong mission choices) or "cheated" on, but nothing too bad.

@The Governator:
Shepard: It's not possible to romance TIM. I tried. >.>; ...And I regret nothing!

This would be the Shepard who tries to hug a hologram and fails. xD

I think he'll be interesting as a LI, I doubt it'll end pretty though, probaly ends up like Mornith romance but more bloody. I think he'll be an interesting character to romance if you're going down the renegade path. But hopefully, there will be more of him be in ME3 so I can kick his ass, he is an interesting character. And I wonder what the sun behind him going from glowing red to white means? Is he responsible for the suns dying? If he is, that'll make him extremely dangerous in ME3.

I read somewhere that he is/can be but that it ends your game if you pursue it.  Femshep, I think.

I wish I could believe, that be awesome, except I think it should be at the very end that their romance come to the conclusion, after the whole reapers are dealt with.  You save the world, go to his quarter, he's in the dark corner and all you see the the burning end of the cigarette then it's too late and you're shot dead.

I don't know, TIM is a user I think. I think he'll want all the power to himself or he doesn't and can never trust you completetly and kills you.  He's in hiding so I think he has trust issues, even if you managed to get a bit under his skin.

That was basically what I meant by Shepard getting betrayed if she makes the wrong choices. :) I doubt TIM would be so quick to betray a loyal Shepard because he would still have use for her.

It is possible that TIM could betray Shepard no matter what just for the sake of the plot (similar to the way the Council doesn't help Shepard no matter what his/her choices were in ME1), but I hope not.

Edit: Removed post regarding Bioware Bazaar. Too much semantics. Those eligible, Illusive Man Lithograph is an auction item. Post a token link (again) and I'll smite thee like an angry god.

I think its funny that this thread is only 5 pages long. That's shorter than fleeting NPCs like Giana and Shiala get.

The only reason I can see them (Bioware) "forcing" you to go back to the Alliance, or anywhere else for that matter, are game limitations and storyline. Similar to what they did in ME2 with the choice(s) of going against Cerberus/Illusive Man but not actually (outright) "ditching" them. Depending on choices made in ME2, I have a feeling it will be more-so dialogue options in ME3 (as in previous games.)

I have a theory somewhat similar to Nu and Kim's. Having T.I.M. as an L.I., in all likelihood, he'd probably continue to use Shepard and keep her as a symbol/trophy. Drop her like a bad habit when she has outlived her usefulness. (As much as I'd wish otherwise. :P)

Or, one of THOSE relationships, but I'm not getting into that.

@Guardian: Well, there are regulars. I think the few of us can only post so much (jokingly or serious) to keep the thread moving :/. I wish T.I.M. had more fans, but, "them's the breaks."

Figured I'd show my support. The Illusive Man is by far the coolest character Bioware has conjured. The look, the office, the voice actor, the theme music - all sublime. Him staring at the sun in his office is my wallpaper, you know, what you see for the mission summary after you beat a mission/assignment?

As for TIM not having as many fans, I wouldn't be surprised if it was because there isn't any hope of "getting any action" with him. Heh.

It's because TIM saves kittens. Then, he puts them to the kitten training camps to make beasts of war of them. He plans to create a kitten army and invade alien homeworlds with it. So that his pet war kittens will eat all alien babies!!!

Whoa-whoa-whoa!!!

It would be interesting to see how Ash/Kaidan would react if you chose to stay with Cerberus. And also what is able to extracted from the Collector base if you decided to keep it.

One of... what relationships? >.>
(I kid, I kid. :3 )

Seriously though, I certainly hope this wouldn't bve the case- it seems like a very cliched thing to do. I should like to think that the Illusive Man, intelligent as he is, would avoid the trap of becoming a generic villain.
And on the topic of his intelligence, you would think he'd realize that Shepard is arguably the most dangerous  individual in the galaxy. Not to mention the whole 'nigh unstoppable' thing; hell, even death was just a temporary setback.
I don't know about you, but if I were in his position, I'd be doing everything in my power to get Shepard on my side and keep him (or her) there. Backstabbing the Commander would be a.) way too much of a risk (not to mention potentially hazardous to one's health), and b.) the equivalent of throwing away however many billions of credits it took to bring Shepard back to life.

Even if you can't use a weapon yourself, it's better to have it in your hand than in someone else's. Breaking said weapon would, I think, be a last resort- after all, there's always the off chance you might need it again.

I'd be more interested if you had to choose between Liara as the new Shadow Broker and TIM as your main source of information. That would be a wild choice...

Yes...they weaken with their soft cuddlyness then...then they strike. The real evil ones will dig into your leg and crawl up it. TIM would be smart to create a kitten army.

I bet, that's exatly what TIM has in stock for a defecting spacecraft-stealing alien-loving paragon Shepard. Man, I almost feel sorry for the poor guy!

Ash: I was thinking more of a... business standpoint(?). Kind of like the saying,"It's not personal. It's just business." Not the "Mwahahahaha!" evil villain thing. If that makes sense.

Besides, I know if someone angered me, I'd want to space them. >:D

Booo, Shadow Broker. Having the option though, that would be nice. I still want to smack the original SB for threatening my Shepard like a little kid in ME.
