You can even get auras permanently attached,
if you are in the field while you make your save for import.
I cant figure out how to view my old posts, but if you can find my topic ' testing '
you will find that Shales stone aura get attached,
and i got armor penetration of around 30, without even having that aura in awakening

I haven't found I needed usable items at all, and crafting is very situational.

I'm still using Maric's Sword. That combination of health generation and stamina generation is very useful, and I haven't found anything better after 2 main quests.

You'll want to bring any leftover gifts over, although i shouldn't have given all of them to Oghren. Velanna and Sigrun could have used some extra help.
