Fallout 3 had no story at all, wtf guys. It was barely, barely remarkable at all. Fallout consists of sub-stories, the main plot is close to non-existant.
Anyway, about Awakening - it was not as good as Origins, fact, but it was just an expension and not a completely new game, so that was totally ok. It was overpriced at start, but at 30$, it was well worth the money. See it as a transition to Dragon Age 2: easier, less tactical battles, lesser customization options, "thicker" plot.

Fallout 3 was more like a sandbox than an RPG. Yes there was an RPG feel but nowhere close to DAO.

Water Purifier than in Broken Steel it was wipe out the Enclave and take over the Capital Wasteland.
