This seems actually *worse* than the risible piece of non-functional software that was KotoR2...

Bioware made us all so excited about this new expansion, and it seems it was dealt with in the most unprofessional manner - the worst of any project they have made in recent times.

The list of bugs and errors in this software is truly amazing.

Even if it ends up being a good game *later*, Bioware should be ashamed of releasing something in such a terrible state.

It certainly reduces the level of respect that any consumer or reviewer would have for them as a software developer.

Epic Fail.

Agreed, Bioware should be careful they dont tarnish the games reputation, It made off to a good start with D.A, But with this expansion and past DLC they are ruining the games name.

BioWare didn't make KotOR2. Also, in defense of Obsidian Entertainment (who did make KotOR2), they did have three months hacked off of their development time with little-to-no warning by Lucasarts (who told them to make up a new ending while they were at it).

Not entirely sure what you're ranting about, I'm up to 10 hours in and have only experienced a single minor bug. But seeing as how you speak for all of us consumers, I suppose I should have a lower level of respect for them despite the fact that I'm having a blast playing Awakening.

I thought Kotor 2 was awesome. One of the best I've ever played.
Also Awakening is playing flawlessly for me.
You must be livining in a different universe from me where everything sucks.

Consider it permission by bioware to pirate all their software. If this is $40 worth of software to them, I'll risk the legal fees, thanks.

I also enjoyed KOTOR 2 more than KOTOR 1. I liked the more brooding, dark story, and the dialog felt more mature. Obsidian is made of people who formed Black Isle, the creators of the original Fallout Series and Baldur's Gate (so many forum goers seem to forget Black Isle's role in that game.)

Nice attitude.
If you don't think it's worth playing then don't buy it.
If you want to play it, then buy it.

I do agree it shouldn't have cost 40 bucks even though it has more gameplay time than most games that come out now. I believe if you do everything in awakening it totals to around 20+ hours. Thats still worth it. So far I am 5 hours in and haven't really seen any bugs at all.

Only bug ive noticed is small plot lags from cutscenes that triggered too fast or things not being able to be looted immediately.

And only real annoying bug is the onslaught bug where if you miss then you get jumped around everywhere.

I played it all the way through without one crash or bug or any problem at all. Plays beautifully. I'm always surprised when games come out and some people have a ton of problems. I don't know whether it's disk production or hardware, but it's hard to think it's the software with such disparate results. I blame software in the instance of something like Fable 2 which had game breaking bugs that almost anyone could fall victim to.

I'm a few hours in and I haven't had any bugs whatsoever. There's the occasional vocal dropout but the same thing occurred in Origins so I hardly notice.

I am just starting out and I am noticing bugs.

Wardens Keep powers still have icons but there is an error with the names and they don't fully activate. At least on a rogue the animation starts but that is all.

Also the backpacks you can buy in your estate don't correctly add to your limit

The text says it will be +10 for a bag but if you buy a bag you only get +5.

If you buy both you will still only get +5.

If you only buy one bag it is still only +5 and the other will disappear from the stores inventory never to be seen again.

I am only couple hours in and I am not even trying to find bugs.

What version did you get? I got  the 360 disc version, and did a full playthrough.  The only bug I experienced was this really disturbing one where Justice's face is transparent, revealing his eyeballs floating in empty space.  No crashes the enitre time.

I think the only issue I've noticed so far is some slowdowns where you pick up your second mage.

The achievements have no description or name, only an icon and theres typos at the end of the game when it gives you short paragraphs discussing your adventures after the story. There are lots of voice dropouts as someone mentioned and my scren turns black in the middle of a conversation with the aritect. Its not my computer and curious if this happaned to anyone else.

The game is unbalanced and redicuously easy which makes gemming weapons and gear unnessessary for the time it takes to do so due to the disorganization of the skill Runecrafting.

You can only communicate with companions a certain amount of times. You cant start a conversation by clicking on them, only by giving them plot item gifts and clicking on the environment.

The story in this game is entertaining but its obvious how rushed this game is. They throw all these skills at you left and right like candy. Theres so many upkeep skills and meaningless skills why even bother with them when you can just auto attack and kill the majority of the monsters in this game? Its a disapointment in so many ways. Ten dollars less then i bought Dragon Age origins and this game only has two main decisions to make our of all the decisions you had in Dragon Age. An embarassment indeed.

Raine, this seems to be a bug cause by the latest PC patch (1.03) which came with Awakening. The dev's are aware of it and I would guess they are working on a fix as we speak.

This would be true, if you want to use some archaic business model that is in no way applicable to the 21 century, at least as far as electronic media goes.  I "demo" every game before I buy it, I think you can tell by my gamer tag that I considered DAO and ME worth supporting the company for.  I consider it a donation to a worthy cuase, rather than buying a product, tens of millions of others play by the same rules.   You may have moral objections to it, but you can't deny that it is the reality game developers have to live with.  I actualy consider it more moraly acceptable than past incarnations of capitalism, it's definetly more empowering to the consumer.

Lets start with most of my gear not importing right,

blood talents being usable but not actually working.

Mobs continueing to attack me during cutscenes.

People asking who I am that I met in origins

Crashing (stlll)

mobs just stopping attacking sometimes while I kill them ( not being stopped by a spell, just standing there)

my chars stopping attacking for no reason ( while I have them highlights and am telling them to attack, no they werent stunned )

gift's with no purpose

same conversation repeating over and over again

backpacks not working right

my archer 1 shotting just about everything ( hitting for 10x what my other chars do )

... those are just off the top of my head, I know some you can argue are not bugs but I know they couldn't have been intentional in design.

Most I get is a little shadow glitch for exactly half a second when it's loading from Convo to gameplay. Big deal. Other then that, I still want to be able to use DLC items. I wonder if there is some code error or just simply they wanted to do it that way.

I believe the majority of the bugs and such are coming from the PC crowd. Just hang on yall I'm sure theres a patch coming soon to fix that for yall.
