Consider it permission by bioware to pirate all their software. If this is $40 worth of software to them, I'll risk the legal fees, thanks.
"If I don't think it's worth the money, I'm going to steal it instead."
Nice attitude.
If you don't think it's worth playing then don't buy it.
If you want to play it, then buy it.
Software engineers deserve to get paid for their work if you're going to use their stuff.
This would be true, if you want to use some archaic business model that is in no way applicable to the 21 century, at least as far as electronic media goes. I "demo" every game before I buy it, I think you can tell by my gamer tag that I considered DAO and ME worth supporting the company for. I consider it a donation to a worthy cuase, rather than buying a product, tens of millions of others play by the same rules. You may have moral objections to it, but you can't deny that it is the reality game developers have to live with. I actualy consider it more moraly acceptable than past incarnations of capitalism, it's definetly more empowering to the consumer.
Amen. If capitalism is keeping you from eating, then by all means steal a piece of bread. But no one has a right to play a video game-- if you can't afford $40 get a better job or find cheaper forms of entertainment.
For all the KOTOR 2 talk-- the abrupt, obnoxious ending wasn't the game's only fault btw. Even on the hardest difficulty, it was also obscenely easy. One of the Sith Lord bosses who was built up to basically devour entire planets could be killed in about two hits with a lightsaber-- you could even walk up to him unarmed and easily karate chop him to death. That game had an incredible story but was a good reminder that video games are not books and the basics are important too.
As far as Awakening-- I haven't gotten to buy it yet, I fully intend to soon. The only complaint I have seen that has merit is how they handled dead wardens, which seems to have been a bad decision but fortunately doesn't affect me as my first playthrough warden is still alive. Personally I don't consider some DLC armor not transfering through as being a game breaking disaster worthy of throwing a temper tantrum on an internet forum, and if some archery abilities are overpowered then I just won't use them.
