I'ma completionist, and it took me 21 hours. There were a few things I missed. For instance I didn'tdo the orphan quests. I did spend n hour or two trying runecrafting

I'm about 12 hours in, 25% completion it states in the log. In terms of the general consensus, it seems if you do almost all the side quests, perhaps fool around a bit with the runecrafting skill, and read all the new codex entries, you may be looking at a 15-20 hours tops in terms of length.

Based on what I'm reading, Awakenings isn't worth the $39.99 price tag. It would be better to wait for this "expansion" or "large add-on" to drop in price. Is that what everyone is saying? Be honest. If you had to make the decision to purchase again with the knowledge you have now, would you wait for the price to drop?

Took me about 12 hours. I did pretty much all the quests, but I don't read all the codex pages and such.

It's not worth $40. I have since calmed down, but I was livid at the time between the length and the bugs. Think $20 range would be more appropriate(assuming bugs are fixed).

Go on eBay - i got mine for £16 (about $25) and although it took me only 10 hours (i dont read codex pages but did all the side quests i could, on casual) for me it's definitely worth it. A game is valued based on its pleasure factor and shouldn't be related directly to completion time. Fallout 3 apparently has like 100 hrs gameplay, but I hated the game so playing it would be a waste.

Buy it - it's very good.

I beated Awakening in about 18 hours, semi-completionist to completionist. :) I bought Awakening for 29.99 euros and DA:O for 19.99 euros. (both at the same time :P) I finished DA:O in 62 hours, so i think you should just assume you spend 1/4 to 1/3 of your DA:O time in Awakening...

It was more of the same as in DA:O, yet not quite so epic but if you liked DA:O it's a must buy :D

Oh and anyone else **** their pants when she screamed at the end :o

Oh and it's qualified as expansion, not just a large add-on :)

i read everything,, and take my time..  only took me 15 hours to get through,  I didnt really skip much, just a few random side quests..

20 hours would be pushing it,,  5-8 id say if you dont like to read and skip dialoge

I'd say over 16 hours to finish the game if you only do what comes "naturally," and around 22 hours if you try to do everything possible, though to do EVERYTHING will require multiple plays since some decisions take away others, and some situations only come up due to decisions you made in the original game. No spoilers, so I can't go into details.

Forget buying the disc, get the download. I know the PS3 and Xbox360 DLC has been as much as 60 percent off for full members.

I am 15 hrs in now and think it will take three times that total say 45 hours. DA:O took me 114 hours.

Yes it is much shorter then DA:O, but so far well worth it.

I did Awakening in about 41 hours. I did not get to do Sigrun's quest for becoming a Warden, though, as this was - ehm - bugged. There's probably one of teo minor quest, I didn't do either. And for Origins, I have, I think 100+ hours, (or maybe 120?), and with 40+ hours for the dlc (except the darkawn chronicles and the feastday pranks)...
