As for the complaint, 'why does the Templar Commander deal 10 damage to the Dalish Elves? Why not to a magic-using team like the Magi?'

First of all, the Templar Commander deals 10 damage to both the Dalish Elves AND the Circle of Magi, providing he's alive at the end of the game.

Second, Templars hunt Dalish because they know the elves are led by Keepers, who are heretic spellcasters.

Both the Dwarven Paragon were slain in battle. Do not be saddened, for not only did they get their enter abilities, but killing them effectively spared about 6 points of damage from being dealt to both their teams. They served their purpose.
