The con type arcane warrior rellies on bloodmagic on casting thus making con very important. You'll also need gears that have health regen. Your mana is only used for your godly-buffs.

The willpower type arcane warrior rellies on a lot of willpower and mana regen gears.

So what type of AW is better?

I have played a pure mag AW before which served me well. I will say that either is fine... just dun overdo willpower/con. Definitely refrain from exceeding 30 from both stats.

I prefer the willpower AW, although I I have some accessories to buff up the constitution. I'm trying for a more pure willpower AW this time around (no using Spellweaver, stave only) but we'll see how well that works out. >.>

Willpower really helped me keep things like elemental chaos up longer without running dry and having to use blood magic to keep it up. I'd take it over con any day

Personally I don't do either (especially now with Awakening Skills), but I like the Willpower route more.

My choice is heavily influenced by my party composition though. I tend to run a lot of Dual Wielders and make surprisingly amazing use of the weapon spells by combining them with Haste and Momentum. Enough so that I don't normally need to use the defensive spells like Arcane Shield, Rock Armor, or Shimmering Shield (which doesn't work for long with haste anyways).

My main deterrent against con based AW/BM though was that all the spell casting would draw aggro to me, and I would generally be right in the thick of things when it happened. Since the aggro draws after all the casting it means any enemies that live through the spell slinging would turn and practically one hit me. AI seems to like to use strong disables when you're <25% or >75%HP.

My AW is probably 60/40 Magic/Dex, and before porting him to Awakening I wore a lot of +stamina/mana items like Varathorn's Armor, Executioner's Helm, and Warden Commander Boots. That gave me plenty of mana to maintain spells with.

What moron uses health regen gear on a blood magic arcane warrior? You know those regens are reduced to 10% of what they state....unless you dont use Blood magic then why bother?

It all really boils down to what works for you and with respecs this time around your free to experiment.

Know whats cool? Try putting all your points into Str, getting shapeshifter and Arcane warrior. Equiping the best armor and weapons you can then fighting in Bearskarn form. Hard to kill to say the least and your not just auto attacking like most arcane warrior/blood mages.

You don't need Arcane Warrior for that one. Since the points in Strength will let you equip massive armors and you won't be able to use Combat Magic or Shimmering Shield while in Bareskarn form.

Your rude and wrong to top it off, your build gimps your forums.  Straight off of Wiki

"When the caster assumes a new form his strength, dexterity and
constitution attributes are replaced by those of his chosen
form's, which in turn are determined by his total spellpower.
If any of the caster's attributes were originally higher than those of
his chosen form's these will be left unchanged."

So essentially you've gimped yourself for not spending points on magic that asside with current gear available you can get an AW warrior to 75% dodge or higher and spell immune so ya... nice post.
