You definitely should. There's nothing really insanely complex or strange about combat, only thing that seems to confuse people is that there are 3 styles you can use and you will often need to juggle between them depending on the opponent, other than that it's a very simple timing system. Having a central and well defined character (I'm personally not a fan of carte blanche sandboxy approach to characters) is imperative if you actually want to make a story revolve around that character and not just for it to be driven by NPCs.rab****annel wrote...
The lore was interesting but I couldn't bring myself to play more than a few hours. Probably been the only RPG (not counting Oblivion which I thought was okay) I never completed/liked. I guess it was a combination of being unable to pick your character, an unfamiliar combat system, and probably the drawn out time periods running around ends of the map finishing quests. The latter I do all the time but I didn't like it in TW for some reason. I only played until that walled city where you had to gain access through a quest. Was beside an abandoned mill or something. Should I give it another shot? :|
Even to this day I'm amazed how underappreciated The Witcher is because people get annoyed by combat and miss out one of the most compelling stories out there with real decisions and grim consequences. If this TW2 trailer was made by BioWare people would be all over it.
