Since awakening is coming out today, I decided to load up the original* coronation save for my character so I could have my first run-throughs epilogue back.

*I reloaded before the archdemon and played a bit more with him then completed the game again, I don't have an epilogue autosave anymroe as I played an early save of my character after that just recently.

I have all the dlc including ostagar and was signed in, but anyway, the issue is when I walk out the doors it doesn't save, it just checks my save data and plays the credits, once I get back to the main menu it resumes in the coronation save I loaded up.

As for why I'm adamant I get my epilogue back- I have some 'sentimental' items in the warden's keep chest e.g. morrigan's ring, which I'd like imported over.

Edit: to clarify, I have two saves (the 'replay' of my character) in fort drakon and a different coronation which have more hours played than my original game. Just thought I'd put that up incase it's part of the problem. Also, the later save involved a bit of treachery on my part, and I'd rather not use "Super  Aethas" in awakening, since his "Super" aspect was a bit of fun I used to toy with the archdemon after my 'legit' kill.

Final edit: I just tested with the longer playthrough, it didn't save an epilogue either, and I saved over the longer "on the road" save from that save to try and get my original one to work. The only changes to my game are that I got that patch a few weeks back and RTO, which hasn't been completed on either of these saves.

I had exactly the same problem when I came to (eventually) play the RtO DLC. I have no "Epilogue" saves only "Post-Coronation" saves for all 3 of my characters.

To play RtO I had to start a new game of Origins with a 4th character and play through until I got to the first camp (after Lothering). From there I could access the map and play the DLC.

I would have thought that the epilogue would have been created at the very end of the game.

FYI. I tried deleting all of the game data (including the update) redownloading the DLC and it still doesn't create the "Epilogue" save.

You never had an epilogue save in the first place? When did you first complete DA?

I had an epilogue autosave when I completed it in January and after that got overwritten by an autosave from playing earlier on I created a manual save of on the road on my replay from late in the game (I say replay as I just loaded up the same character a little earlier on).

I had no epilogue autosaves left, just coronation manual saves and one on the road I'd made of the 'replay', which I deleted to try to get it to make an epilogue save for my original completion, and now it seems I've shot myself in the foot.

I can't rememember I completed everything before the last battle on each of my 3 playthroughs. I must've deleted them as I had manual saves "Post-Coronation".

The epilogue saves should be created at the end during the titles it seems silly to create such an important save where it does.

Okay, I just got it to create an epilogue save, I played from a save just before defeating the archdemon and killed it again. However, when I loaded the epilogue it... gave me the ultimate sacrifice trophy.
I've never turned down Morrigan's ritual, I'm mythed, and hoping it hasn't whacked my character's story, so I guess I'll go check that. At any rate it seems as though it's made as you kill the archdemon and not at the end credits as I recall it, which is disturbing, I was sure I'd get a line of dialogue in awakening over my decision on the "What are you going to do now?" line from Alistair.

Well I'm mega-screwed all my saves are after the final battle so no chance of me getting an epilogue save unless the powers that be release a patch.

To top all that I'm sure that Awakenings uses the epilogue save too, because I can't import any of my characters into Awakenings.

I feel a bit peeved that they made everything so reliant on the epilogue save, why can't you use the manual saves. Also, if the autosaves are so important why don't let everybody know and we wouldn't delete them.

I've just started awakenings with a new character and was pleasantly surprised to find that the character starts at level 18. That's not too bad. However it would've been nice to continue with my old character.

I had the same problem. I had to disable the Awakening content and reload my coronation save to get the epilogue save in the camp and access to Warden's Keep again. Once I got all my stuff together I reactivated the Awakening content and imported my save without issue.

For the record, only 2 of my 8 (?) characters were able to enter the Epilogue.  Otherwise, they go straight from the coronation, to the credits, back to the main menu.

The first 5 characters I used to beat DA in Nov, before the Epilogue was introduced to the game.  Since Awakening was released, I started a new character in Origins, played to the end... and still no Epilogue!

Of the 2 char's that can go into the Epilogue, 1 was my 3rd char (back in Nov, before the Ep. was added to the game), and the other was after the Ep was added...  In other words, there seems to be no pattern.

So basically, I have to sell all my stuff at Warden's Keep before the final levels, and carry what items I need for Awakening through the Origins final levels if I want to take it with me to Awakening.  Because I can't go back and get it.

And any runes in any DLC items are lost, too. (unless I want to remove them w/ Sandal before Archdemon fight, intentionally crippling my damage just so I can carry the runes into Awakening)  What a joke.

Thanks BW!!!
