Look around what is happening on the xbox, pc and ps3 forums. This expansion makes more problems than fun; Awakening has more bugs than Origins. People don't buy it until BioWare will not make a proper patch for this game. It's just waste of money. I was supposed to buy the game today but I changed my mind. For such price we have the right to demand a proper working game!
Ps. You also think that the price is definitely too high like for expansion ??

I don't have the possibility to purchase on the disc, only download; but I can see what people are writing and what they are furious - it isn't possible to import the half of the thing from Origins; problems even with opening the door on some levels; the game often hangs down etc
"Awakenings Bugs List" - on every DA:O forum, and it's really long...
How it is possible that we have to wait more than one month for small RTO, because of Sony certification; and now Sony give certificate for **** like Awakening ?? This game has so many bugs that sometimes it's not possible to play it ! Anyone tested this game before release ?
Ps. Why on every other forum someone from BioWare give technical assistance, and on the forum PS3 nobody is never speaking ??

I definately agree... i bought this game at a midnight release on Monday night and was psyched for it... the came the disapointment!!.. from the fact that none of my good items carried over... to the game glitches that are way to numerous to list... to the fact that i played OVER half the game with NO SOUND!!!... i agree that this game could not have been properly ested...

And i am also sick of Bioware giving PS3 owners the silent treatment... RTO and all of the other Origins issues mad it obvious that this company doesnt care at all for PS3 owners...

Sadly... this will be my LAST bioware purchase!

£31.99 is a laughable amount for an expansion pack, for another 3 quid you can get FFXIII from Shopto

Truth. And not just any expansion pack - a rushed, untested, bugged to buggery expansion pack.

You don't know that games on PS3 are always most expensive ??
I have found that the cheapest price for PS3 Awakening is 24,99; but we still have to wait for PS Store Update... but no matter it will be for 24,99 or less... i won't buy it !

Few opinions from other threads:

Alexiel1883 wrote...

I finally get my copy of Awakening this afternoon, put it in my xbox only to be so dissapointed and upset!

First my character has a tatoo on her forehead that says
"Tattoo Design As
DO NOT USE!!!"

Second I had to reload my game TWICE because she got stuck in an anamation like she was shocked

Third none of my Download gear got transfered over so I am using a great axe out of nowhere and I have NO SKILLS for a great axe.

I paid 40$ for a broken game! WTH did anyone bother testing this game? Is anyone else having these issues? In addition the game is freezing on me from time to time. I have just turned it off for the day I am praying that they will make a patch ASAP!{smilie}

What a Twist wrote...

I'll try to update this with the bugs I find, and any experiments i've attempted.

Oghren's face seems transparent during cutscenes. (His hair and armor seem to be fine as far as I can tell, only his skin vanishes. Spells or effects do not seem to be causing it.)

The "Blackblade" body piece's texture is bugged for female elves. (Untested on human or dwarf females, i'll test it later and update this.)

The "Sentinel" armor is bugged on both male and female humans, it appears to have the texture of the warden commander's armor, however the shapes seem to be fine, just coloring.

Ander's right arm gets frozen in place as if he's holding his staff, this persists until a reload.
(unknown origin)

The PC's arms get stuck after the cutscene when you kill the first desciple in vigils keep, then go to speak with the king. Only seen on a female human PC so far.
(seems to happen during the transition from combat to the cutscene, no spells or abilitys seem to effect the outcome)

Ahh, well, PS3 games are stupid expensive, so yeah.  Prices of console games tend to be influenced more by the console manufacturer or the publisher than the actual dev.  So the blame actually lies either with Sony or EA (or both) for the price of the PS3 version, not BW.

I can pay 31,99 for good, working game. But i will never pay even 10 for bugged and broken ****. It always depends, how You like to spend Your money - for something or for nothing ? - Your choice.

Well yes, in the end, no matter how much people complain, that;'s all that matters - whether or not you're prepared to buy the game.  Personally I'm getting it for the PC and so £15 for an expansion is great.  If I were buying it for the PS3 though, I admit I'd probably hold off a while.

I agree this xpac was rushed and not tested properly. Also it was EXTREMELY short for $40, 15-20 hrs is not worth that money plus it takes longer for you to play due to the bugs. Bioware you guys better be hard at work fixing bugs for the fans. Also not having the DLC Transfer over to this xpac is plain stupid imo. I spent money on DLC I want to use it in the xpac.

I'm waiting for a reasonable price. Expecting UK players to pay £31.99 for an expansion is absolutely crazy in the extreme.

Come back to Planet Earth please Bioware.

Sadly all these bugs are due to EAs pressure on Bioware to deliver. there for they cant use the time they need for bugtesting.

Seriously, people? I bought Awakening, am enjoying it, and have encountered minimal bugs.

15-20 hours is not bad for a game's length, and I plan on playing it through with every Origins character I have - which is 7, just right now. That gives me minimum 70 hours replay value, and if my current pace says anything, more like like towards the 140+ hour end. Not bad for 40 bucks.

Well thats a good replay value and mine would be the same if the bugs didn't irritate me. The game is enjoyable and memorable but to be honest I'm starting to get sick of poor programming.from Developers.

All in all the game is enjoyable but I would have loved to play my DLC on the xpac.

I've gotten only one noticeable bug - a single crash early on, but I replayed through the area and it was fine afterwards.  I haven't noticed any more bugs than Origins, which is to say, for me, not many at all.

How exactly would DLC from DA:OA work?  Do you mean importing weapons and armor, or do you mean Return to Ostagar from Awakening?

I'm having an insane amount of problems just playing regular DA on my xbox. If Awakenings is just as buggy, perhaps it's better not to play it until the problem is cleared up. Although, one of the patched for DAO made my game even more buggy, so its hard to trust even something like that.

Relax chicken little, the sky is not falling.

I've played PS3 Awakenings and have hit no bugs of note in the first 2 hours.

i am quite furious. here in germany psn price its 39.99 €.

bioware/ea, you can't be serious about this.

first of all 39.99 Dollars is nothing near 39.99 €, more like 55 Dollars. so that's already insulting.

it gets even worse because you force us (given we want to play it, that is) to download it via psn. no disc, no booklet, nothing. and that for about 40 Euro?

i deeply loved DA:O, but there is no chance i am gonna buy this at this rate.

Just fyi, the booklet for DA:OA isn't all that much - you won't be missing much by not getting it. And you don't have to deal with switching discs to play Origins and Awakening, so that's a minor little plus.

As for the price difference, that's just kind of how it goes for playing "foreign" games, isn't it? Not saying you don't have a right to complain about it, but if I want to play the latest RPG from Japan, I first have to wait for it to be translated, then probably pay more to get it as well. Imports might be cheaper, but I have to go with what I can understand/play/buy.

I bought Awakening because I want to see where the story goes.  Just like I tend to go out and buy new books that I'm excited about even if I end up paying more to get  it in hardback.  All the rest of the stuff is minor enough for me not to care so much about it.  If your views on it are different than mine, so be it, but for me, there's no deal breaker in this game, and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Trying so very hard to not buy it....

... don't know if I can stay strong when the N. America PSN updates and its sitting there, just right over there, through that series of tubes....

Must.... have.... strength... to resist....
