This expansion is so overpriced, I mean I paid a little less for a new copy of DA: O for the PS3.

I don't understand arguments of some people here on the forum. I payed 24,99 pounds for the full DA:O game, why I am supposed to pay for the expansion pack 31,99 ??? Since when expansion packs are more expensive than the basic version ??? After all the entire game is giving me 80 hours of playing, but the expansion only 15 hours! And there are so many bugs, problems, so many dissapointed people...
The fact: Awakening on XBOX costs 24.99, the same as DA:O on XBOX: Awakening on the PC 14.99, the same as DA:O on PC. Why on PS3 Awakening is more expensive than the basic version?? Both versions on XBOX and the PC are on the CD, PS3 is "download only", so PS3 version "download only" should be cheaper !
Write what you want, but until some patch won't come I won't buy it; if he leaves I will wait for the opinion whether indeed something is improving; and as far as the price will be normal...

Yes, childish insults lol

Maybe you've a lot of money to spend on videogames, but for me 95$ are not crumbs.
I only stated that, for me, these are exxagerated prices, and it's a matter of fact that this speech is subjective and not objective, isn't it?

And, anyway, I was not stating that they are really thieves. For info, here in Italy, when a dealer sell something at a higher price than its value, we say jokingly that he's a thief.

I saw at Wal-Mart they wanted price of expansion the same as the game.  I asked a Wal-Mart employee why is this the same price as the game and does expansion come with the game she didn't know and couldn't answer me but told me that the expansion does not come with the DA orgins game so i didn't buy it.  I don't think the people at Wal-Mart knew that this was an expansion and not the actual game.  Be Aware of this when buying the expansion.

How sad. Euro - Dollar exchange is
like 1:1 on PSN -.-

The price, here in Italy, is 39.99 Euros,
which is 54,5 $!
So, should we European players pay 55 dollars for an
expansion? It's totally unfair (and no-sense); practically we (european
customers) have to pay for an expansion the same price that an american
customer has paid for the entire game.

(Just for info, Dragon
Age's price at launch day here in Italy was 69.90 euros, which means
95,15 $. They are really thieves)

yikes, crazy to see how much people in europe have to pay for their games compared to us in North America, you guys must get paid more or have a higher min wage right? heh

Didn't need to read this thread to convince me not to buy !!! The UK price on PSN did that.

same, I'm waiting for the uk to get a disc based version, hopefully it'll happen eventually.

I refuse paying that price for something I can't physically touch and I personally prefer to have a box on my shelf.

yeah they got the price wrong...just 40€? This can't be right. So many bugs, super customer support and the privilege to only download it should be worth about 80€.

No seriously...who is THAT stupid to pay for getting a c*ckmeat sandwich?

I am returning my copy of DAO today

They support XBOX and PC users, from which 80% downloaded the game from the Internet; but the don't care about PS3 users, who don't have any other choice like to buy it. It is a stupidity. For them they are underpricing so that they buy, and for us they are overpricing because we must buy... On many PS3 sites I can see the disbelief: "31,99 ?? For what ???". I agree. And i don't care anymore. Probably in the future i will buy XBOX and i will be downloading BioWare games from the net, the same as almost every XBOX user. They are screaming about the piracy and they are supporting them. Funny...

E RAGE!!!!!!

I bought it, and I'm satisfied. Maybe people should read the previews next time so they don't feel "cheated" with a 20 hour single player fantasy RPG

Never thought I would see so many selfish pricks on these forums.

Just because you are satisfied with your product doesn't mean the rest has to follow your example.
But in case you didn't notice, this isn't just about bugs but the the overcharge EA forces on its european players.

If you are not one of them you have no reason to post in here in the first place.

I am simply happy I just started playing the game... It will take a looong time until I finish... I hope till then they patched that thing properly...

The most positive user reviews mostly go like this:

This expansion is great BUT... (and then you have a looong list of complains)

so there must be something very wrong with this expansion...

I really hope they will do a better job with the ME2 DLC's in the future...

Expansions, by their nature, only appeal to a small segment of the gaming populace. This expansion is designed for those people who are "Hardcore" about their Dragon Age. The initial price point is very high, if you are a casual Dragon Age player who completed Origins in less that 70-80hrs. this is not a purchase you should consider..... yet.

Expansion packs also drop in price faster than complete games. I agree that the European Download Only Copy price is quite steep, but I can almost guarantee it will drop rapidly once the "Hardcore" fans have gotten their fill.

Download only in Europe was a directive from Sony. For whatever reason, Sony forces its publishers to CHOOSE ONE method of distribution, either a physical copy, or download only. Bio/ EA chose Download only, and I think it was to "test the waters" (no physical copy to resell. EA is really coming on hard to try and limit used game sales).

I strongly suggest this to those that are so furious about the price: Go find something else to play for a little bit. If you are this angry at a game's price on release day, you only need wait a few months and the price will come down to what you feel is right.

If you really, really, really, want the game so badly (ie: you are a Hardcore Dragon Age Fan) read a few different reviews, know that you can get multiple playthroughs, and think about your play style. If you're a crawler, (like me) you can savor this thing for 15- 20 hrs. each playthrough. (x3 Created Characters, x1 Orleasian Warden= 4 potential play-throughs or approx. 100hrs of value).

My only complaint thus far is the difficulty curve. If you really dialed in your Warden, have the best armors and weapons, and have a smart build you will slaughter all that stands in your way with ease. I found "Normal" too easy in the later stages of Origins. I switched to Hard for Awakenings and I am now considering Nightmare.

Yes childish insults.

You are calling bioware "thieves" for legally selling a product which you can chose to buy or not. In fact it's EA selling the game not Bioware.

More childish insults, you are really helping your case... by constantly lofting insults at other users and bioware, you continue to reveal your level of maturity and composure.

If you've ever played an RPG expansion before, you know how it goes.  Ever deep RPG has a long list of bugs.

The list of "buts" is usually for people who ignored the previews and the faqs.  Like no DLC, no romance, "not really dead" storyline.

80% of the complaints are simply from ignorance and refusal of people to understand what they were buying.  there are indeed legit bugs, but there are legit bugs in every software package for sale.

My godness.
You must be a very sensitive person if you feel like "selfish ******" is such a grave insult.

You know, my arguments still stand.
You can't contribute anything to the matter at hand since you are not the one getting ripped off, so you might as well stay quiet.

Seriously I think as this is the ps3 Forums a lot of us begrudge having to pay such a high price for the software. I vote with my wallet but, sadly as a PS3 owner I won't have the option to shop around all look for trade ins/markdowns at my local gaming store.  At a more reasonable price point I'd accept bugs to a degree, but seeing so many listed and at a price point higher than many full games. Its a no go.  Why are gamers forced to accept bugs in games ? I work in software dev I wish my clients accepted bugs so easily !!!

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it ain't your clients parents who are paying for your coding
