Shale was supposed to be in the hall at the end?

Yes, Shale is at the hall at the end in the PC version. The console versions doesn't show her or acknowledge her to my understanding.



A lot of what I'm saying is based off research (there are Wiki's about it) and what not, as I'm not in the mood to waste my game experience by going through and dealing with the frustrating glitches. I think it's safe to assume that the glitch has SOMETHING to do with the variables/toggles involved to denote who is the King at the end of the game. Either that or they have a really wishy-washy monarchy system.

I have the 360 version and married Anora as Human Noble, with Alistair killing Loghain.



In Awakenings Alistair appears as King.



Since story drives so much of Dragon Age seeing my character's history ignored in this way made me stop playing at the beginning.



Silly, and unacceptably sloppy. It spoils the immersion I had in my character.

You should reply to the bugs mentioned on this forum. I would encourage others from this post who are experiencing these story bugs to return their copies to their vendors too.

^ I don't think returning the copies causes Bioware to lose any money. They sold the copies to the vendors already.

Yeah, but if everyone who has these sloppy bugs returns a copy to their vendor, it will have a lot of upset vendors seeking compensation from EA/Bioware.

I got the message telling me that Alistair left Ferelden to go and rebuild the Grey Wardens - even though he is also king. So I suppose he's simultaneously visting his subjects in Ferelden while not in Ferelden is he? I mean, what the hell.

Bump for justice. Can anybody elaborate on this stuff please? I haven't reached the ending of the game, but I have a feeling these problems WON'T be fixed in the upcoming patch if people don't voice their opinion about them.

I'm surprised more people are talking about dex bugs as opposed to STORY related glitches.

I've got the 360 version and i've had it and shale since launch day, and not once - not matter what the in game variables, as i've played it through in so many diffrent ways - has shale apeared at the end for a 'chat', i just thought that is was normal but now i am dissapointed.

I hope this issue is addressed in the upcoming patch, this is a big bug and some of the other fixes seem trivial in comparison. I cant speak for anyone else, but I am frefraining from purchasing anything DA:O until this major error is fixed.

That's pretty much what I've been doing.

Yeah, same with me, last dlc I got was RtO which was disappointing for the price. Seems dlc in general is overpriced for the amount you actually get out of it, although fallout 3 dlcs were a few hours long at least plus added new weapons, armor etc. As for getting this in the patch coming out, it seems to be a matter of luck, there are so many bugs and only so much time they have to make this patch. I'm still trying to get an answer about the dex fix, only thing it says is daggers for the patch, but dex is broken in many ways, not just daggers.
It would be nice to see this bug fixed in the patch though, in such a story driven game having a bugged ending that will carry over into an expansion is just bad. I don't really worry about that right now though, because the expansion is still way overpriced. If the game actually gets fixed, and if I find a cheap copy I might get it, but other than that I just don't see it being worth it.

Did anyone else notice it doesn't say Michael Lang is a Bioware employee anymore? Did he get fired or something?

Also to everyone having problems with being Human Noble marrying Anora if you get Loghain instead of Alistair there are no bugs at all for that outcome. I do hope they fix that ending if you choose Alistair though.

Worst Glitch Ever.

I played through this game maybe 3 or 4 times, experimenting with different choices and endings, and how they weighed on my satisfaction with my story, and finally, on what I wanted to be my final play-through, (so as to be happy with my first play-through of Awakening) the post- coronation and epilogue completely fell apart on me. I was very careful in selecting the female Cousland back story, preparing for my happily ever after with Alistair, (after 2 episodes of him dumping me) and made some difficult choices to ensure the success of Orzammar, and BAM! Right at the end, Loghain magically comes back to life, and Anora, who I kicked the hell out of the castle, is suddenly betrothed to Alistair, and in the epilogue, I am no more than his lover. However, when I spoke to him, he spoke of our engagement, blah, blah, blah. Everything else was normal, except for maybe Shale, who DID show up, but was, um... Well, looked like a giant, still piece of armor. It might even have been funny, were I not so disappointed at wasting 65 hours on this game. I don't even want to bother with Awakening now.

PLEASE FIX ALISTAIR!!!! It seems a majority of our issues are being addressed and this one hasn't been mentioned much ('nor have enough people complained about it.) Hopefully Bioware is still aware of this issue.

This just happened to my. I tried importing multiple different endings with this character, including one with Alistair being dead and he still shows up in Awakening as king.

After playing this game more than 22 times, I finally got around to making my noble king, but boy am I pissed to read that my best buddy Alistair is the king and I am not. Had similar glitch with Dwarf noble and his son. This is worse.

I am rewritng my ending. Hell with their fraudulent one. I become King when I marry Anora as agreed upon during the Landsmeet, hire the Crows who wanted me to visit Antiva after I kill the AD, and put poison in her drink without giving her the royal antidote, then have Zev take out that conniving snake Eammon who thinks only Alistair should be king because of bloodline and was absent at the ending ceremony. Nuff said, still pissed.

I have made my female city elf Bann of the Alienage and in the epiq cards it states that Sieanne (sorry about misspelling ) she ended up becoming the elder. Also with my female elf mage I freed the circle and it isn't acknowledged in Awakening.

I wish the developers would say acknowledge this

Dude that is messed up.  I still have a feeling that the microsoft family is getting more love than us Sony players.
