Once you beat the game you're given the option to restart the game with your character at his present level, weapons, credits and all. I'm curious if most folks do that or just start from scratch again?
What's the playthrough like if you go with that "super" Shepard, Isn't the game too easy especially the early part or is that why all you guys seem to play the game on insanity?
Thanks

the enemies ramp up to your level and you have no weapon upgrades when you do a new game+

The early bit is harder, all enemies are (if you're lvl 30) max levelled and powered up to cope with all end game upgrades. You don't have any of the upgrades. This makes a surprisingly large difference, but once you've done horizon and can get the special upgrades it gets back to normal insanity playthrough difficulty. Anyone who has the widow though can breeze through still, it one shots everything without any upgrades.

I think it's kinda dumb that you don't keep weapon and personal upgrades. I'd be fine with having to get Ship and Squadmate-only upgrades again, but the weapons and health and such should be kept since the enemies are balanced around you having them.

Well, NG+ is typically meant to be hard in RPGs, so I guess that's why. I'm personally just not a fan of your environment (item drop/loot quality, enemy damage output/resistance etc.) magically changing according to your character's level, and especially in a game like ME2 that's relatively linear, it seems unnecessary. Always struck me as a silly concept.

no. its not that simple. well at least u tryied. the widow wont do one shot one kill until its upgraded to 3/5 with 50% headshot damage. trust me i know(insanity/ lvl 30 assassin). u can 1 shots vorcha or weak a*s soldiers but it stops there.

I guess what I'm asking for those of you who have tried is this. Is it more fun to start over (you can change class right?) with a higher level character or just start a fresh new (different class) Shepard ?

if u choose to start with an imported character from me2 u can only change the looks not the class.
btw its more fun to do a fresh start and when u finished the game with all classes u can start new games by importing those characters.

Fun or not depends entirely on you. If you're shooting for the Insanity Achievement, then I'd suggest sticking with a brand new character. Playing up to Horizon with a New Game+, on the other hand, is a serious test of build and tactics.

I finished my first playthrough ME2 (as Shepard, level 21 or 22 I guess) and now have to decide between the two endgame options: (1) Continue from here to explore other nebula (and potential side missions, I guess), or (2) "Import" my current Shepard w/ current squad (Tali was killed) and weapons, appearantly to restart the whole game mission sequence.
What are the Pro's and Con's of those options? Thanks for help & advice.

No, you restart with the weapons you acquired. They give you 50k of each resource, and ruffly 200k in credits. You obviously are not keeping your squad or updates.

after finishing epic 8 times of games, import character or new start doesn't make me any difference. no matter how I begin, I basically get 50k for each mineral (there are 4 basic materials), 200k credit. with this money, or plus when you finish every mission, you will get more credit. that's enough to upgrade easily. so I just play imported one better because I already have all weapons I can throw to enemies. especially, it works with soldier class.

The most awesome boost of all, you don't get with a new game+.
Paragon and Renegade points.
Importing from ME1 gives me +190 of each (with either of my sheps, 'cos their blue and red bars are near full).
