In my opinion, bioware should just scratch awakening..... I know this means almost all of us who bought the game will have nothing to show for it (except some knowledge of some lore) and just have us import our Origin character to DA2... and hope for the best.
BUT! if there is to be a canon ending for this game, please please please have newer characters better or atleast at the same level as Morrigan and Alistair were in origins.
oh and Canon ending should be my ending! Alistair king, male warden sleeps with Morrigan or Alistair sleeps with morrigan (only if female warden) oh and also romance with Morrigan if male warden.. if they generalize Morrigans relationship to just friendship for both male and female I'll be pissed
It seems likely that DA2 will not have an import function.

If they imported the character again in my experience (Nightmare) it would be to boring and repetitive as you can only go so far

You know what, you are right. It was terrible. It gave us a continuing game and made our choices actually matter! How dare they give gamers any type of meaningful story like that. They should be sued!
Canon is baaad.
Hell, the Baldur's Gate novelizations became canon and I know what we did with those (simply write them out of the universe, although one of us burned a copy and roasted a sausage over it).
But seriously, I don't play DA because of the setting or the world or the game mechanics or whatever. It's the roleplay in RPG and the freedom of choice. It could just be a roleplay/storyteller thing, but for me, that's what has set Bioware games apart, and saying "sequels have to draw from canon endings" or "a sequel should focus on..."... well, no way I'd say I wouldn't play the game for certain, but I would be disappointed.
Why give people the opportunity to shape their character and companions if you then lay down the "this is how it really happened so there."
I would like an import function, yes, even with its minor glitches such as in Awakening, but not if that's the price.
