for those of us who canceled the pre order and were waiting for reviews.

None of our players choices from origins actually transfers over?

Our relationships are not acknowledged at all (except Alistair - but none of the male pc),

Our dog is not mentioned at all (no explanation for where he is),

No  explanation for how Oghren could have a kid after several months.

Anything that was attempted to be transfered over (player choice wise)  is retconned or inconsistent (including the camoes).
SO if you wanted to play this game as a continuation of your character from Oigins and actually feel like it still is that character  then the expansion is not for you? What redeeming qualities does this expansion offer for this type of player?

I haven't seen any place where the choices are even relevent. It doesn't say one way or another what happenned to the Dog or Leliana or Zeveran. In my world I knocked up Leliana while waiting for the Orlasian Wardens to arrive and Zeveran and Dog are watching over her while I take care of business. As for the Oghren thing and his kid I don't know if bioware wants to get into the gestation period of dwarfs vs humans. It is an RPG so role play a little and make up what happenned, and how you got from point A to point B since those monthes aren't talked about anyway.

I've only done the first part of Awakening so far. In my main-game playthrough I was made King, and the Queen now refers to me as "my husband."

dog is referenced.
relationship is acknowledged.

choices do carry over, but they are subtle, not like "HAY REMEMBER THOSE GOLEMS YOU MADE?"

lastly, DAO never advertised the ability to import save data. i love bioware for doing it, but when DAO was announced, they never advertised "you will be able to import your save data throughout the franchise"

they advertised that feature for Mass Effect, but not for DAO. so why do people get all indignant about a feature that was not advertised? i defy you to find any other developer or RPG that offers this feature.

Your transferred choices mount up to about a minute of gameplay.

That is a flat out NOT true - Dog is apparently NOT referenced once anywhere in the game and nor relationships with Morrigan, Leliana or Zev acknowldged AT ALL...pleas do make statements that aren't true

You continue with your responsibilities as a warden. You start rebuilding the Ferelden wardens that were decimated at Ostager. You deal with a threat that could harm Ferelden which means the land/people you care about.

You get to see a new region of Ferelden. You get to meet new characters created by the same writers that created the DA:O characters you liked so much. You get to see more locations created by level designers who are now more familiar with the tools and engine.

Morrigan runs off
Zev said he was thinking about going into busniess for himself
Leliana is in the midst of writing her epic ballad
Dog is with Leliana because she needs him to bounce ideas off of
Sten went home
Wynne stayed in court for a bit
I didn't make Alister king so I assume he is now with his sister helping her take care of her kids and being part of the family he always wanted
And as one of the endings said, No one is sure of what happend to Shale but there is a dwarven woman far north who has a serious issue with birds.

Feel better now?

yes thank you - the sarcastic remarks are greatly appreciated - I forgot that your style of playing MUST be the way everyone plays the game -

Dog got refferenced by Oghren, but still I still got no explanation on what the hell happened to him or where the hell he is.
Leliana (and most likely Zev too) is refferenced in the epilogue (only if romanced I believe). Still, no damn explanation on where they were and what they were doing.

There's no explination as to where any of your friends went or why they're not with you. I was supposed to go with Sten to visit the Quanarri. No mention of how that went down or why I'm not there. Non-King alistar doesn;'t even make an appearance from what I hear, even though he's supposed to help you rebuild the wardens. If you freed the circle of Magi, there's no mention of that and the templars still hunt down the apostate Anders without so much as a 'hey, I thought the circle was free of the chantry? No? my bad..'

ALso you run around doing rediculous tasks that a person of your rank really shouldnt be doing. My HNF was the Queen. Which begs the question of why I don't have all but unlimited resources to work with at the arling. No explination for that either...

It's just not worth it if your looking for a smooth flow of the impact of your choices. Whihc is what the games about of course, which means: it's not worth it.

You can't go with Sten, unfortunatly your duties as a Warden pulled you away from your travels.
"From what you hear" - You should play the game before commenting.
Templars still hunt apostates and maleficarum. You freed the circle of magi, not all mages.
You do tasks because it shows your commitment to your people. Of course, you aren't required to do these.
You don't have unlimited resources because Ferelden is recovering from the biight that was just stopped. Remember that Archdemon thingy and horde of darkspawn that sacked Lothering and Denerim?

What ever happened to people having an imagination and critical thinking skills?

I am playing as a human mage and Anora calls me "Husband" even though it's patently impossible because its only available if one was a human noble.

I think the fact that they made any reference at all to the relationships and game choices you make in Origins is a huge step and not easy to do (possibly why there are so many buggy things like Anora calling your mage husband). I mean, there were six or so different choices for what combination of ruler you had - how do you think they get the voice actors to come in and voice for a cameo that might not even be in the game for everyone?

I don't think it's worth complaining about these things. Yes, I was disappointed I didn't get to have a huge pash session with Alistair when he visited me, but hey, we romped all the way through DA:O and now we're married so I can't really complain. The gameplay was fine, the story was interesting, the new characters were fun and Oghren is hilarious.

If this is really important to you then no, the references to events and decisions in DAO are minimal. I think they could have gone a little bit further in that regard. Overall though I would still reccomend it if you liked DA.

Morrigan's epilogue is very bugged now due to how the Romance ends in Origins, or at least how its supposed to end with the Ring epilogue and all.

Here is what I noticed transferring over:

- Oghren's sidequest done. (His new wife isn't too happy when she founds out he joined the wardens...)
- What happens to Branka. (Conversation with Oghren)
- Who I made king of Orzammar (The dwarf guy with explosives says which King sent him.)
- Who I made ruler of Fereldan. Anora refers to me as her husband.
- Who you romanced is mentioned in the ending. (Like going to Antiva with Zevran or chasing Morrigan in Orlais)
- Loghain survivng. (Best cameo in a game ever?)
- Treasuer lady mentions me going to warden's keep in origins.
- Dark ritual mentioned by the Architect.

Seems to me all the major choices(Dark Ritual, Dwarf King, Fereldan ruler) transfers over and then some.
