I for one will not buy Awakening before the PS3 versions price is as low as the Xbox version.

I like Dragon Age, but I am not an idiot who can't see when something isn't right.

Because BioWare turn into money grabbing people who would rather take devoted fan's money instead of making a expansion worth buying or even playing.

I have an Xbox but I wont pay what they're asking for it either. I'm really surprised there is such a difference in price between platforms though.

I moved to Canada last year from Scotland and still use my UK gamertag since I can't change region on it so I still have my UK bank account to pay for it but to download costs 3200 points which of course I can't just buy that many points and would have to buy 3500 points at a cost of 29.75 GBP or I can buy a boxed one local for $40. even with conversion it still costs more to download and no hard copy.

I'm going to wait a few weeks so hopefully I can pick up a used copy and maybe the bugs will be fixed by then.

dont blame bioware for the price, blame PSN, and blame yourselves for being cheap and not paying for online service, Sony probably put up the price or they charge more to put content onto PSN

Still nothings been said about this? Its bolix to have to pay such extortionate prices. Im a PC user, and picked it up for 15 quid, I can also get Origins for less than 15 quid now. PSN is TWICE that.

Odds are bioware are watching and passing it on to EA, who simply shrug, and will then ask a simple question, why didnt it sell well? Do console users not like RPG's? Simple answer would be, the pricing is bolix.

At least you guys will wait, for a less bugged version.

Sony have already gone on record and said the blame for the high price rests with EA/Bioware. EA/Bioware on the other hand have been deathly silent

cheap for not paying for online service? Yeah perhaps we should all just bung sony a tenner a month even though they don't ask for it, maybe then awakenings will be cheaper..... no wait it wont cos its EA/Bioware who have set the price. Maybe we should bung them a tenner a month instead :D

Well I for one own a pc, a ps3 and a 360. So this is just stupid. I've bought every BioWare game in the past 10 years and this one will be the first I won't but, at least now, until the price drops by a huge number. I mean I bought DA on ps3 because I had only just got my ps3 and thought I would get a few extra games with it so for me and other long time fans to be treated like ****, (which we are because we have no other way to buy this game) and be ignored by Bioware/Ea is very saddening. Image IPB

I don't care who picked the price change it so we can be done with being taken for mugs.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that I've seen the original WITH A DISC, COVER and A MANUAL, which cost extra to produce, for £25 at Asda and at game. So A download EXPANSION which doesn't come with these should cost less to make and less for us to buy.

Meh FF13 rips this **** in half, disregarding its linearity( because DA is a railroading game ), it looks a heck load better than DA:O on the PS3 like a HECK LOAD better. no joke. And at least its bug-less and was done right. DA:O is an average game 'imo' and DA:A is an outright joke.(for the PS3). Aesthetics wins me over tbh but hey you may have a different opinion and honestly i dont care cuz i've ditched this game it fails on so many levels.

Sony are also the people who went on record claiming that the 360 was just an 'xbox 1.5'. They're not a company known for making insightful comments.

Put simply, Sony can say whatever they want - the fact is it makes no sense whatsoever for EA or Bioware to sell an expansion for vastly inflated prices on one platform. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason for the increased prices is due to either something Sony have ballsed up, or some hoops they've set up for game producers to jump through and hence increased costs get transferred to the user.

Slightly off topic, but....

You bought a PS3 version when you had eveything you needed to play the PC version? Oh dear... :P

well like i say im waiting on it being in a sale or somthing. Its a shame though, i wasnt expecting to be able to play it on thursday because i knew bioware would screw up somehow but i wasnt expectjg this. Those of you who have followed bioware for a while may know them as reliable but ive only been paying attention since mass effect and they just seem to constantly f**k up here and there.

Well I left out the part that its Vista and probs won't run DA lol

ON TOPIC: I think if theres no respone from Ea/Bioware soon we go to the offical uk Compalints board flood them with emails of how this is not only like being mugged but then bumming into the mugger a week later and lending him money to get the bus.
By this I mean if we buy it at this price now then they will think they can get away with it and keep doing it.

I think the price is what it is because its only avalible via download. If the disc version was out aswell then they wouldn't charge so much for it. IT wasn't too long ago I was saying how Ea arn't as bad as they used to be.

Sell the console platform at a loss. Recoup your expenses through game sales. That's how the console makers meet their bottom line.

That doesn't add up, however. If it were download only the expense of producing, pressing and transporting disks evaporates. Hell, my fave game on the PS3 is WipeoutHD, and despite being a full game and only available on PSN, that and it's Fury expansion pack together set me back £30. Given that PS3 games normally cost around the £40 mark, clearly the precedent and the facts would support lesser costs.

Because Sony likes milking you.  They figured they milked you with the PS3 system itself, so they can also overcharge you with a 31Euro expansion.    A good chunk of the money you pay goes to the Platform owner (in this case, Sony).  If the price for the same game on 360 is 24, but 31 for PS3... guess who's the blame?

Amazon.co.uk have Awakening at 24euro and 14euro.

It's EA/Bioware who set the price not Sony. Sony even tried to get them to reconsider it!

yeah the dude on the psn blog says he tried to get them to lower it. Dunno if i belive him but what can you do.

As for the ps3 being overpriced itself, id say it fair given the fact that it has a software updatable blu-ray player built into it as well as being a games console. plus i havent had to buy it multiple times like i did with the 360.

Let me tell you Bioware, of the 100 people on my friends list...none of them are buying Awakening until you cut the price in the UK to the same as the Xbox version. It's your loss.

Get it for £25 if you follow this process;
