did u try "higher than normal" or even "realtime"?

i dunno which access could be denied there, but try right-clicking the shortcut (or exe) when starting the game and "start as administrator".

hopefully that helps...

Thank you but I already performed the steps you mention above (last post). Although I've managed to get through the Fade now by luck, I wondered if you as another w7x64 ultimate user could tell me if theres a taking of any steps concerning "user permisson" required to reset any priorities. By now those should be default for my system. Anyway I am able to play on. That was my top priority ;)

according to some google you can get rid of of the "access denied" message by first clicking on "show processes from all users".

wherever the logical point stays here, it should work ;)

It's happened to me too with this battle. Crash crash crash crash. I'll have to try some of the fixes.

I am in the same boat, on my old rubbishy pc no problem, on my win7 x64, i7 920, 12gb, radeon 5770 hd x2 I have crashes every hour and can't through the sloth battle.

Was having the same crash bug on 3rd and 4th form (crashed about 10 times before i found this thread). Lowered Texture detail and effects detail to min, disabled gore subtitles & autosave. I used my quicksave in the lair with the sloth demon and no crash! I did change back from golom form to my human char just before each form shift to see if that would help. It may have, but I didn't feel like going back and repeating it to verify.

I had the same crash, too. Loading before entering the sloth lair, then removing autosave and going back in fixed it for me.

None of the solutions above worked for me. I got through when i disable all game sound and put the game to run windowed. Good Luck

Not to be a killjoy, but as someone who's had this bug I've managed to force my way through the fight without making system changes, though the game crashed at a random one of Sloth's form changes each time. Now that I'm back, trying again, my previous solution of "hope for the best" doesn't seem to be working. Because I'm obviously adding so much to the discussion, I'll also add the oft-overlooked facts that the crash is aggravating and flow-breaking, and makes me cry like a puppy that just lost its innocence.

Finally I managed to defeat Sloth Demon. To do this I had to make what Phlogophile suggested: Set game's process priority to high.

Moreover I set graphics to minimum, disables auto save and saved a game just before accessing Inner Sanctuary. I hope it'll help anybody else :)
