can the hole crew be killed,i would accept a fast answer before the outbreak of WWW III here at home between my brother who claims that he lost the hole crew and saved the hole crew!?

Nope.
Joker and Dr Chakwas always make it.

it is possible to lose Shepard and ALL squadmates and still get an ending that isn't a "Game Over" screen. But Joker always makes it, and always gets the ship home.

Chakwas dies if you don't send someone back to the Normandy with her.

Joker though, is immortal!

OK - how can Shepard die? I killed off several squad mates in my various play-throughs, but even when I had Shepard die once against the Reaper (after setting the bomb), it just restored the game instead of showing the ending with him dead.

Have your squaddies die in the final reaper fight and dont bring them back with medigel. Then, in the end cutscene where Joker is providing covering fire and Shep makes the jump for the Normandy, theres noone left to grab your hand and drag you on board. Shep falls to his death. You win, but game over.

Bogsnot, I think they both just have to be disloyal - they don't survive the fall.
