Okay, I've met Connor the Abomination. What's the best choice here?
Do I have time to get to the Tower of Mages or should I sacrifice Isolde?

Personally I went to the Tower and sought their aid (I had already completed the Tower quest and they owed me). When we got back I sent Jowan into the Fade and he finished things. Then turned him into the Circle of Magi for their own Justice.
I felt it was the "right" thing to do.

There's not a real timer in the game. It's your choice.
No matter how long you take, things wont go wrong if you choose to go to the tower.
Edit: Example - I chose to have the mage's help me as well, but had not completed the initial tower quests (which took quite awhile to get through) - was still able to ask for their help, go back & send someone into the fade to save him.

Heh well course being a goody goody I went to the tower to save the kid. Then that's one more mage for the circle to rebuild, and a probably more exciting life.
But one more possible abomination.
DAMN THIS GAME IS TOUGH.

Haha, thanks! That's nice. I will do that right away. I was going to start a new char waiting for answer but I won't need to
Wish I had gone there first so Wynne could've healed Murdock the mayor

You have enough time to go to Tower of Mages and do the whole quest there and come back in time to save Connor.

I did Redcliff castle and then took a break at camp (amazing how you can spend an hour reading Codex and talking to your party!). Headed through the Calenhad docks to the mage tower and just hit the fourth floor. It was midnight so time to stop.
Vial under the statue on the 2nd or 3rd floor needless to say was not quite what I was expecting.....
All I can say is Wynne rocks!

I think for the fourth summoning, you do all the steps for one through three (minus touching the summoning circles 1-3.) Then summoning the fourth. (I also assume you don't re-touch the font, you just go around touching all the books & marks & whatnot)
And yeah, I kinda wish/expected that going to the tower of magi would result in a few more dead villagers or something, but nope. No bad consequence that I ran into.
