I just discovered that the Legion of the Dead heraldry, which can be purchased from the dwarven merchant in Amaranthine, provides a +20 bonus to every attribute.
This is, quite obviously, a bug- the other heraldries only apply +2 or +3 to attributes. I'm playing on the Xbox , if that matters.
Legion of the Dead Heraldry - Buy it and apply it!

Does it apply to every shield?

I haven't tried it on every shield, but it worked on both the Landsmeet Shield and the Heartwood.

I play the PC version but I've read on these here forums many times how to apply heraldry and use manuals of focus for the XBOX version so I figured I'd share. It seems that you have to go into the radial menu and use it like a potion. Its even in the same area as potions.
I was wondering about the bonuses because I used the Grey Warden heraldry on Howe's Shield (and a big eff you to him) and notice that my health is a decent amount higher even though it doesn't provide con or health bonuses.

how do you apply heraldry to a shield ?

It's like using a potion. 360 user- Left Trigger to bring up the menu, scroll through your potions, and it should be in there. Just have the character who has the shield equipped use it.

Sheesh, as I just said, I had no idea the heraldries gave character bonuses. I thought they were purely cosmetic.
So the normal effect of heraldry is to add +2 to all attributes?
But the Legion of Dead gives +20 to all attributes?
Yet another glitch ... in the player's favor, I suppose ... along with Justice & Sigrun getting +100 approval with some gifts.

125 Dex would be even more broken. In fact, it would make him even harder to kill since he would almost never get hit by anything.

I'm pretty certain someone accidentally pressed '0' after they typed +2 into the stats of that heraldry, it's seriously broken. I had Justice with it for most of the game. This time I'm deliberately not exploiting it - the game is easy enough as it is.

Now here's a dumb question. Do all other heraldries have the same bonus (+2 to all attrib.)?
I'm sorry. Maybe I'm not getting where it says in the game, per se, heraldries are supposed to give *any* bonuses at all... 'course, I seem to be missing some other tooltips as well.

I suppose so - but I was killing things almost too easily, on nightmare. This might not work to actually make it more fun.
However, I can't resist... Off to replace my heraldry!

All heraldry give a passive bonus of + 3 all attributes. Having this bug apply + 20 to all when using legion heraldry is just nuts.
In short, normally you get like + 3 attribute points for each level. Applying this gives a + 20 for each, making for a total of 120 attribute points (eventhough you cannot distribute these yourself its like adding 40 levels to your character ^^ )
I tried it but it takes the challenge out of nightmare mode. Too overpowered....
