Thats why I'm buying Bioware games used for my 360 from now on. Perfect solution if you want to play their games but don't want to reward them for their lack of support.

Exactly what I'm doing! :)

Danny, I wouldn't expect anything for at least another month. It sounds like they have their work cut out for 'em. Do what I'm doing and enjoy Mass Effect 2, a game that's significantly less buggy at the moment.:o

Been doing that actually, probably gonna need glasses soon from trying to read the dam text though.  Image IPB
Even dusted off Oblivion for a bit for a change, got tired of hunting turtles in FFXIII and squinting at the screen for ME2.
I just really want to make a good ranged character though, it's been bugging me because it's really the only build I haven't made.

Add me to the list of those who will now only purchase used Bioware games. At least maybe they will actually work properly when I get around to playing them.

Soon even that won't be worth it sadly. Image IPB
Companies are so dam paranoid about piracy that they don't even release the full game, they include a code inside the box for the other content. I mean if you buy it used you have to add like $15-20 for the ridiculous price that they charge on xbl for these things. (1200 MS ponts) 1000 points is $15.50 and to get 1200 you need to buy another 500, so that's $22 extra if you buy it used. ME2 did the same with the cerberus network thing 1200 points as well, that's gonna make buying used games obsolete if it keeps up really. My guess is that people simply won't buy them, or they will find a pirated copy because of all the extra cost involved, I mean who would pay more for a used game than buying it new just to get the whole thing.
A bit off topic there but anyways.......still no update on a patch coming? Been waiting five months to make my archer. Image IPB

I always buy used, and I have never had a game that was broken in any way. Just check for scratches and you're fine.

Regarding the free content released with new buys, they're usually pieces of useless tat anyway and the game can be enjoyed perfectly well without them. In fact, you can quite easily buy the game used with the codes still in the box, unused.

Losing an extra character or bonus gear is no big deal. Games will still be playable. As for used games and scratches. Install to harddrive when you get the used game home. If it fully installs then there is nothing to worry about and the game will work fine. I'm on my 3rd 360 so I always install my games so I can avoid the 3 rings of death and the wear and tear on the disc drive (Oblivion killed the disc drive on my second 360).

I agree that the game is still very playable without the bonuses but my concern is that these "bonuses" are in fact meant to be part of the game from the start, and end up as an attempt to grab extra money from people buying it used, since they get no cut of the sale of used games. Fear of piracy is an acceptable excuse for greed it seems, or perhaps it's just EA doing what they do best which is squeezing every possible cent out of people. Image IPBImage IPB

Let's clarify:  It's no big deal to YOU.  To ME, when I buy anything, I expect all features to work as intended or promised.  I personally am NOT okay with new things coming out of the package broken, lost, or not working whether I'm buying a car, a house, a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, or a video game.  If it was advertised as such, that would be one thing.  To me, it IS a big deal to lose those things, especially when they are part of the reason I made said purchase to begin with.  I feel everyone can have their own feelings and let others have theirs.  Mine and others feelings of NOT being happy with the bugs and issues does not invalidate your or anyone else's being okay with it.  If I don't like strawberry ice cream and someone else think's it's the greatest in the world, both of those perspectives can co-exist peacefully with acceptance by both.

I think you are reading his post wrong. He doesn't think it's OK, it's just that he'd rather put up with half a game than have any of his money actually go to EA and BioWare. That's what I meant when I started talking about second-hand games, anyway.

And chill out, he wasn't trying to invalidate anyone's opinion.

Perhaps you are right in that I am reading his post wrong. Perhaps I made a mistake in my interpretation, that certainly happens. That's how I read it and that's how I responded. The original poster certainly can clarify. Due to my unfortunate lack of telepathic powers, I have to make due with my own perspective. :)

To me, it sounds like you are the one who feels upset, who feels that my response was unfair or incorrectly applied, which is understandable and completely fair, but if so, I feel it's better to just stick with that and leave out claiming to know what someone else meant. Who can (sanely) argue that anyone else shouldn't feel the way they do? One can, however, quite easily poke holes in someone claiming to know with any certaintly what anyone else's words really mean.

I believe in strong advocation of myself, my opinions, and thoughts and sometimes that requires an apology or two along the way (and will again in future I'm sure), but I prefer that greatly over regrets for not saying what I feel, especially when I feel strongly about something (and concerning this poor broken expansion pack, I have very strong feelings indeed).

I advocate strong advocation, so we're in agreement there. However, the gist of his post is quite clear so you don't really need telepathic powers ;)

And I'm not upset, I just thought you overreacted slightly. No need to get into a row here.

*Laughing* That was a decent post. However, to me the part of "The gist of his post is quite clear" is again, quite a blanket statement to make. What are you trying to say? I'm an idiot for not getting what you feel (or others even feel) the gist clearly is? ;)

Agreed on the row, we both have our feelings and perspectives and leave it at that, ok? Glad to hear you are not upset :)

If you follow the conversation and read my first sentence I don't see how I could be much clearer. Perhaps I'll use smaller words next time.....

*Laughing!!!* Oh ouch!! Oh touche!!!

I'm sorry, it sounds like my mistake upset you and others...and I'm sorry, my self-esteem isn't really low enough to be too upset by that one :)

However, here's some other tried and true alternatives:

1)  Something along the lines of writing more slowly for me (this works well in conjunction with your initial thrust)
2)  A reference to riding a short bus to school
3)  Anything that starts with "Yo momma so fat..." (my own mother actually was a bit hefty so this could potentially score big).

Peace, okay?  :)

I wonder how many tokens it takes to get a patch... :/
