Seriously. I know a few people who refuse to watch BSG because God did not make the Cylons. It's fiction. It's not like BioWare is telling you to get drunk.

The only reason I can even tolerate Oghren's annoying, tasteless one-dimensional ass is because he is voiced by the amazing Steve Blum.
He was Mugen from Samurai Champloo
Vincent Valentine from the Final Fantasy movie
Wolverine from the new X-Men series
Lucifer from Dante's Inferno...
The list goes on and on!

That being said, Oghren is just your usual stereotypical (and boring) dwarf.

I love all of the original companions including Oghren, but he gotta go. Bioguys said that he plays an important role in Awakening. Then what is that role? It's not like he leads your PC onto some important clues or something. He has no more importance on the story than Anders (Who's a cool dude might I add).

Hell, why bring him back if there's an option to drive him away from the joining and not see him for the rest of the game? Leliana and Zevran would be FAR more appreciated as the returning companions, since 1. More people liked them and 2. It actually made sense for them to be with your Warden.



So, I just hope that someone who we actually really like will be in the next expansion (if there'll be one).

I'd like to see future games and expansions focus on other characters. Oghren has had his 15 minutes of fame, time for someone else to take the stage (after the air chears, phew, what smells!?).



For me, Oghren was the second least interesting character in DAO (after Morrigan).



I'd like to spend more time with Leliana (a femme fatale spy who believes her god talks to her in dreams, now there is a lot of opportunity for plot development), Sten (a good opportunity to make social comments on Ferelden through the eys of an outsider), and maybe Wynne.



So my vote is "no, pick another existing character to explore in future content".

Some of his conversations with Alistair are hilarious. And while he is a drunken buffoon 90% of the time, he is a drunken buffoon with depth which is not easy to pull off in a video game.

Besides he is voiced Steve Blum, how can you not like the voice of Spike from Cowboy Bebop running co-pilot with you?

huh, didn't know / realize that Oghren is Spike, so to speak. still, I'd argue the "drunk with depth" thing. like you said, to each his own.

not a fan of oghren, hes over there with sten and shale guarding my camp. The only use he has for me is as a place to store gear to free up space in my pack (but now I have Wardens Peak, so his is rather useless to me) would rather see Leliana show up, she seemed to have an interesting story, would love to see more of her. How about a new game as Morrigans child, with Morrigan as a companion early on.

Yes, Qunari with two different Orgins. One that is one with the Qun and the other an exile...and the intelligent Dark Spawn is such an interesting take.
