The good:
-Awakening was fun, loved the new gear.
-Some cool new Characters, I especially liked Anders ( he made me giggle)
-Got to rule over some land, thought that was cool.
-The Desciples! I loved the idea of Darkspawn with the abillity to think for themselves
The bad:
-Wasn't long enough
-Story seemed like it was written quickly
-A bit generic ( No offense, still loved it... Don't hit me!)
-The Mother... Didn't really learn too much about her, not enough to make her the main baddy. In my opinion at least
-What happened to Leliana? and Zevran? they were suppose to help me fight the Darkspawn!
-What happened to Morrigan and my god baby? I thought I would've heard more about them
-The people who did have a cameo, only spoke to me for about 30 seconds. And Wynne made me go into the forest to look for some old woman.... Thanks Wynne, i haven't see n you for half a year, and now you're making me to errands?
That's all I have right now, from the top of my head anyways. What do the rest of you think?

Though yeah, theirs alot of holes in awakening, something you wouldnt expect considering origins.

When I worked in retail, I was serving. At christmas time, a customer came up to me and demanded I give her a reduced price on several items because they were placed with the items on offer (or so she claimed). Yet the items she wanted weren't on offer, so I couldn't give the reduced price. Needless to say, she wasn't happy and this was right before closing. There were two possiblites: she thought she'd try it on or a customer/a staff member had put the items she wanted in the wrong section.
So no, customers aren't always right. They can be idiots, but then, there's a lot of idiots in the world.
Edit: The above isn't to say I disagree with what's been mentioned though. Just wanted to address the theory that the customer is always right. I'm not far enough in the game yet to give feedback anyway. So far though, I'm enjoying it and I'm 6 - 7 hours in, part way through the first main quest where you choose where to go. Haven't encountered bugs either.

Excuse me!!! Not only is that a no but a HE** NO. The customer IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT, I know I worked with the public in sales for quit a few years. Lol sorry about that. It really pisses me off when I hear that comment.
As far as the game, I love it, I totally enjoy it n I will keep playing it. DAO and any DLC's or expansions they put out I will definitely be buying and playing. They've done an excellent job with these games, but unfortunately they aren't up to everyone's standards but oh well. Me being a buyer myself I say excellent job for giving me a game that I truly love to immerse myself in and play.

Like Nathaniel Howe having two paternal grandfathers.
And the elven runestone gift just rubs the whole NO ALISTAIR FOR YOU thing in the faces of the fangirls. Some of you may find that a good thing however.
Though, one epic win I just discovered is that Grey DeLisle is the voice of Velanna.

If the customers at my place of work knew what I was really thinking while they describe what "MY" workplace's problem is then I would be fired.

How is this a WTF moment? Doesn't that simply account for his father's father and his mother's father?odiedragon wrote...

I was skeptical about this expansion and didn't pre-order it like I do with all BioWare products, but after seeing it and playing it myself, there are some good things to say about it. It was better than I expected from what people were saying about it and its short development time. And now I'm happy to have it.
The 1.03 patch on the other hand, confounds me. I don't know how you patch such obvious glitches into your game. They did it with the Xbox RtO patch too, breaking people's specializations. Really, really, blatantly backwards patching with each piece of DLC, which makes it seem like they're trying to push products out way too fast for teh monies. I'm glad there isn't any more DLC announced for the moment, they need to concentrate on fixing and polishing what they have out already. I want to see 1.04 before I see the next "Return to Ostagar, coming soon!" fiasco.

A WTF moment for me was when I found out Kristoff had a Wife that lived in Amaranthine, yet he stayed at the Inn...guess their marriage wasn't as strong as you'd think from his wife's reactions.
Hmm maybe she was afraid she'd get the taint in her, maybe she was pist because he went and became a warden and she didn't want him too so she kicked him out. Who knows lol

I agree that it was too short. I know it was just an expansion but it just didn't seem long enough to really get to know a LOT more about the Darkspawn. Don't get me wrong I learned a lot from Awakening but not as much as I was hoping I was going to learn.
The Mother wasn't really threatening. I mean she gave orders to the Darkspawn that weren't "freed" yet. The Archdemon at least led a Dlight and was a dragon that seemed threatening. Also a Grey Warden was needed to kill the Archdemon (yes that includes the dark ritual. If you or Alistair had not had sex with Morrigan she would not have concevied a child with the taint so either way a Grey Warden was needed), I could be mistaken but I don't think one was needed to kill the Mother. Anyone with a pair of stones and a large amount of skill with a blade could of killed her.
There was more gold then oxygen in Awakening. Everytime I killed a Darkspawn, bam! 2 gold. Open a chest bam! 17 gold. I like that except there didn't seem to be a whole lot to spend it on. Yeah upgrading the keep was awsome (I will go into that more in my second list) but I spent a total of 80 gold on making it the best it could be and then it failed anyways against the horde.
I understand that the Darkspawn were the foucus of Awakening but the lack of the ability to be able to speak to our companions like we did in Origins is a little disappointing. I don't want to be able to romance anyone but I still want to be able to get to know the new companions better.
Again the fact that we could upgrade the keep was cool but we could really only upgrade the walls. That's cool and all but I want to be able to upgrade more. We were able to do that in Mass Effect 2. We upgraded the Normandy and made it a killing machine (not that it already wasn't one).
Also I don't think Bioware made the Darkspawn and other monsters stronger then they were in Origins. Because at level 15 - 19 the monsters were a challenge. Maybe not at 19 but at the earlier levels they weren't easy to kill and I would go through health pots left and right. I think no joke I used maybe 10 - 15 health pots between all my companions and my Warden the entire game. The two dragons in Awakening weren't hard to kill at all and the golem was a joke really. I was playing on normal sure but the High Dragon in Origins I put on casual and it still proved to be a good challenge before I actually took it down.
And this part I hated more then anything. Knowing that my Grey Warden stepped down as Commander. I thought "Hey sweet I'm the Commander of all the Grey Wardens thats pretty bad ass (It was and still is but I'm not Commander of them all) until I found out there is a First Grey Warden. Like the First Enchanter. He is the one that calls all the shots and the Commanders are like his Generals. I thought that was awsome. I loved that idea, and I was hoping that maybe in other expansions for Origins or maybe even Dragon Age 2, we would rise through the ranks to First Warden but I guess I leave the Order to go chill with Leliana.
Oghren makes a joke out of the joining. I mean it was an alright joke. I seen it coming but I still like the Joining your character goes through (Not a big deal but I just didn't think it fit with the Joining).
The Good:
It had a story for how short it was.
I did like the companions but I wish I could have learned more about them then what was told.
I like the new armor.
I REALLY REALLY like how my Warden is seen as an Arl. Thats was cool.
I really like how we got to upgrade the keep.
I like how we got to make choices as the Commander. We picked where the troops went, we listened to the people of our lands (more of an Arl thing but still) and we made choices about what would happen to their lands or who would hang or rot in jail. Or if like me just have them join the Army.
I like the new skills and abilities.
---
Okay so I went into more detail about what I didn't like rather then what I did like but that was only because I explained why I didn't like those parts. I didn't feel I had to give AS much of a reason as to why I liked a certain part of the game. Anyways I know my opinions are just my opinions but I'm just pointing out what I thought was great and what wasn't as great.
