The noblewoman who hired the Antivan Crows -- how did that happen?  In Origins, only one Crow would even consider going after the wardens, and that was to try and commit suicide.  It was considered unwise to go after grey warden recruits!  And now you have someone willing to go after the Warden Commander?

Of course, if you finished the Crow quest line, you're assured that they will never accept another contract on you.  I suppose that could be written off as a lie, but it still remains that going after even grey warden recruits is considered unwise.

Edit: And I doubt she had as many resources as Loghain did.  *sigh* It's the little details that bug me more than anything I suppose.

Ser Lady Tammren did say the nobles feared your prowess and were pouring a great deal of coin into getting rid of you. They must have offered the Antivan Crows quite the offer if they would risk your ire and go back on their word. By the numbers present I'm guessing they contracted a whole cell.

Smaller than the team Zevran had, and again, the crows had agreed NOT to go after the Warden again.  And NO one would take the contract aside from Zevran to begin with.  Impolitic was the word Zevran used, even when going after Grey Warden recruits.  And this was the Grey Warden commander!

Edit: Even Master Ignacio snorted at the thought of anyone taking THAT contract.

Well, it might not have been very long after the guy said the crows wouldn't accept more contracts.

Maybe word had not yet traveled to Antiva and the Crows that were hired were unaware.

But still, no one would accept the contract (except a suicidal elf)  when the warden was a recruit because it was considered stupid to go after grey wardens.  Yet someone accepted going after the grey warden commander.

Is this if you romance Zevran? I don't recall anyone (even Zev) saying the Crows wouldn't be coming after you in the future. In fact if you tell him he can go if he comes back from time to time he quips about dragging a string of them in behind him and would I be so kind as to kill them for him if he stops back in to visit. For me at least it wasn't a "we won't bother you again" thing.

The Crows are too well informed for that. But perhaps your right, maybe Master Ignacio had an "accident" on his way to Antiva.

No, this is if you do the "Trial of the Crows" quest line.  Master Ignacio says it if you finish it.

He made it sound like he was in contact with the ones in Antiva and that "they" had decided the warden was a better friend than enemy.

Edit: I type faster than I think.

Again, it could be that the offer made was a great sum. There where few enough Crows present for an entire cell on the other hand, and perhaps these were Crow Deserters who would try their luck on you?

In DA:O, it's mentioned that you still have an open contract... one that only Zevran is willing to take originally, and after he fails and you complete the Crow quest line, I got the impression that it was a contract that was going to go unanswered. And even if Ignacio had an "accident," it's not like he was the only Crow in Denerim...

Where would the noblewoman get enough coin, in her beleaguered lands, to afford a offer so good that the crows are willing to try to kill the Wardens again?

Perhaps the crows were being hired to assassinate the warden's supporters, and not the warden.

And no matter what with the crow quest line. Loghain hired the crows and NO one would touch it except Zevran, who had wanted to die via grey warden. Because it was unwise going after them, even though they were just recruits. And since the crows apparently will only send someone to do a contract they feel is worthy, it would have to be a very experienced crow master who would take it.

Or maybe Bioware just made a hiccup with the mobs they used.

no, it was very clearly an attempt on the warden, not their supporters.

Or the writers didn't care too much about inconsistencies between the games I suppose.

I'll agree to that, but at least there are still *some* possible logical explanations.

They got that incompetent "Ser" Temmerly for the supporter part.

Ignacio told the warden as long as Taliesen is still alive, there's nothing he could do.  But Taliesen ended up killed.

This broke immersion for me in the worst way. Everyone else has already made any point I would myself. Its the details. I know not everyone would have done the Trial of Crows quest or even kept Zev around (most of the people I know IRL who have played lost him), but considering Zevran's discussion on the topic of your contract, Crows showing up at any price seems silly.

Considering how easily he died, maybe this guy was just telling them he was a Crow and really wasn't...

LOL okay that's grasping at straws plot wise but *shrug*

LOL sylvanaerie.

Tellervo, my reaction was exactly the same (obviously). Why couldn't they have just hired local assassins? It would have made more sense. One of those silly mercenary companies!

Edit: Having a bunch of Crimson Oars coming after you would be better for humor reasons anyway!

I forget, did Ignacio state that their refusal to take any more contracts on your head applied to the entirety of the Crows or just the cells Ignacio had direct control over or contact with?

He said the crows would no longer be accepting any contracts on you.

But again, that's just an aside.  Only one crow was willing to accept a contract on grey warden recruits, and that was a suicide attempt.  And since the crows only will give contracts to those they deem worthy, it would have to be a very experienced crow to go after the Warden Commander.  And NO crow the prior year was even willing to go after a Grey Warden recruit.

Edit: /rant off!  It was just something that annoyed the hell out of me.
