Alright, I tried multiple things, since nobody had an solution and finaly I got it to work, It wasn't easy though.

1. Uninstall Dragon Age, but make sure to keep your savegames (You must choose it before you uninstall, better make a copy of it (They are in User\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age copy the Characters Folder)

2. Delete everything that's left after the uninstall (You may have to reboot). So delete everything in User\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age (Except the Characters Folder of course, because of your saves) and in the main folder (Where ever you installed your game)

3. Install everything again. Make sure to apply the 1.03 patch before the Awakening addon (I'm not sure if this step is important, but I did it)

4. Download every Addin again....

5. If you load the save and it says it's missing something, choose the force thing

I'm not guaranteeing that this works, It worked for me though.

I don't know if I'm going to try this. It was such a pain installing the toolset that I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it again.

What your solution seems to show it that there's either a difference between 1.03 alone and 1.03 + awakening OR something an incompatibility between some addins and awakening.

I really hope a patch will be released soon.

I installed awakening on my laptop after installing the patch. I didn't have any addin and imported my saves. I forced the load and the same bug appeared.

My laptop : intel penrin 9300 (or somesuch), geforce 9500 mgs, 3 gig ram and vista 32 bits last sp.

So, maybe it's more of a game related bug for me ( something wrong with doing quest in amarantine maybe).

For me I think it had something to do with the toolset (And my own created mod). Also you have to load before the final battle in the Fade (The baronesse battle), because there should be a cutscene after you come out, and you should talk to Justice.

That's what I did but I just went back and saw that I had left my own mod inside and that it was required for awakening... I wasn't happy about that.

I deleted my own mod so there's only the awakening campaign left, still doesn't work.

I also tried to "skip" the battle with the baroness by running to the back of the castle after she teleports you behind the exit, outside of the legal map. At first, this works fine, but afterwards, in the battle with the dragon the game keeps crashing :-(

Guess we have to wait for a patch ...

Well it works for me now. It has something to do with the toolset maybe. Uninstall everything, including the toolset (except the saves/characters) and reinstall. Force load and it works (for me at least). So yeah the only solution right now would be to delete and reinstall without any mods or the toolset.

Ok, I'll wait for the patch because I won't uninstall the toolset.

Wow! It appears that you gamers were kicked in the head by a mule. Patch 1.03 is bugged. You can't fix it with makeshift solutions. You MUST wait until Bioware corrects the problems with a new patch. What you do now is WAIT! Is that too difficult a concept for some of you to comprehend? Playing Awakening is not a matter of life or death. Give these forums a break and go read a book.

Excuse me.

If I can get it working just by re-installing, then I don't see the problem. Loads of people haven't had this issue, so that suggests that patch 1.03 isn't bugged. I don't see why you have to go on here and start having a go at people because they're looking for a solution to continue their conquest in this game.

We're here because we want to know if it's our own mods etc that are messing it up, or if it's just a bug almost everyone is experiencing. It's clear, that not everyone is experiencing this bug, in fact a relatively small amount is.

Oh and thanks for the advice, however I'm fully aware that playing Dragon Age: Awakening is not a matter of life or death, thanks for your hard earned extensively knowledgable advice and your extreme intellectual understanding of everyones situation.

It's not humanity, it's something else ... trollity maybe ?

But just in case : Docremo, it's a forum where players try to contribute to solving bugs. As you may be aware, pooling ressources can sometimes be useful.

actually, you don't have to uninstall DA at all. I did it this way although I have the steam version installed :

1. remove everything inside Documents\\BioWare\\DragonAge\\ except Characters and Screenshots

2. start the game, re-download all Addons

3. re-download Awakening from Steam (had to do this cause awakening wasn't registered as a module anymore)

4. Load save game from before the first baroness fight (force load if you have to)

This worked for me. So finally, back to the game ... :-)

It worked. I just had to cut and paste everything elsewhere, erase the awakening campaign and reinstall it.

Since I already had found a better equipment along the way I don't plan on downloading anything else until I have finished awakening.

I'm pretty sure that it had something to do with my own created module (I died a little inside when I deleted it, it would had been probably never finished but I invested alot of time into it)
Maybe I'm wrong, but since only few people encountered the problem It seem realistic. Try this method above first before you go all the way through with a new install.

You didn't have to delete your mod, just putting it somewhere else in your computer was enough. That's what I did and it worked.

Yah no. You have to make some wired database save in the toolset in order to save it. But it was my own fault, so no going back anymore... it's better that was anyway.

If I can be bothered, will incrementally re-enable the mods to see if it's one in particular blocking an event trigger.

This is what I would suggest. I know Innodil's Pocket Plane breaks the beginning part of the game, so if any of you guys that are experiencing these issues have any mods enabled, try disabling them and see if it makes a difference.

Whoa, what part of the game does Innodil's Pocket Plane break?  I've had no problems with it until Blackmarsh, and have already determined that it ISN'T the problem.  I'll try disabling the DLC AGAIN and see if I can cue any triggers.
Thanks for the youtube videos guys!

Well I spent a good part of yesterday and last night mucking about with my DLC and I finally got the Justice cutscene to work (I sided with the Baroness, apparently Valenna, Anders and Oghren liked me better for siding with her WOOT!) and the Justice cutscene, which I'd never seen before, fired. I think the culprit was not Innodil's Pocket Plane, but a package called All-in-One because I saw a bunch of files in there that were designer cutscenes. I saved after the Justice cutscene and reinstalled a lot of the DLC, including Innodil's Pocket Plane (cuz I just can't live without it!) and am going to go see if the Baroness's scene triggers with it installed.

This bug is still present with PC UE v1.05. Seems like it's pure Bioware, too, not due to an addon. Removing all addons, overrides, and all DLCs except Awakenings does not fix it. Considering that people have only reported fixing it via reinstall, I'm suspecting that it's the awakenings installation process itself that is broken. Likely triggered by having DA:O installed already with saves/etc when Awakenings is installed.

You'd think they'd have ironed out the bugs by now. ><

Just reread the original and my bug is slightly different. My characters never get ported out of the fade no matter what path is chosen. After the fight, I'm left with Justice and Baroness standing on her little raised balcony. I can select Justice to speak to him, but doing so just starts up his dialogue from before the gate bashing. That's it. Just leaves me standing there.

Tried full reinstall, disabling addins one by one, etc etc. It's just stuck. Looks like Awakenings is unplayable due to some unknown bug.

I finally found what seems to be the cause here.  It's not add-ons or installation problems, it's a pure scripting bug.  If you have blood-magic modal ability active when you initiate the dialogue sequence that leads to the first Baroness encounter, the Baroness remains stuck in cut-scene mode.  She won't transition to fight mode and enter mock-combat with Justice when you enter real fight mode with the rest of the courtyard.

If you turn off blood-magic modal before starting the fight dialogue, all will be fine and just as you kill the First, the Baroness will start another cut-scene to advance you to the next phase of the Blackmarsh quest series.  It's OK to use blood-magic in the fight.  Just don't have it enabled when you start the dialogue leading to the fight.`

It could be that other modals also trigger the bug.  I can say that Elemental Mastery, Arcane Shield, and Spell Might on the warden are innocuous.  For companions, Beyond the Veil, Accuracy, Aim, Threaten, Song of Courage, and Weak Points are safe.

I retried the fight several times with different lead-in choices and varying degrees of scene-skipping with ESC (I thought ESC'ing might be the cause for a while).  The only thing that seems to matter is whether the blood-magic modal is enabled or not at the start.  Enabled = bugged.  Not-enabled = not bugged.
