That mustache is all kinds of awesome, indeed. You should have to unlock it. No mere newb deserves such a 'stache!Kilsot wrote...
The mustache on the mage made the video what it is. Without that it would be a much worse video.

It is a bad pug. One healer/dps + three warriors who are really squishy? The healer wasn't really doing much healing and dying alot. The warriors weren't keeping the healer safe AND they were just doing their own thing. But I digress. That mustache is still awesome.soteria wrote...
For some reason watching it made me think of bad pugs I've run with in WoW. I think it was the way he used his taunt button *after* everyone else was dead. I think the sidekick commentary was what made it watchable. I couldn't stand watching the dev gameplay video. And yeah, that's a sick mustache.

Before he taunted, he was practically warning the whole freakin' world that he was gonna do something stupid. But it was only Walter left standing and he couldn't do any other skills anyway. After the taunt he remembered he still had a stronger healing potion, which made Walter prevail.
If you're saying he should've used the taunt ability earlier, well... I can't see how that would've made things easier. Even the "tanks" were being hit hard.
Hehe.. if it wasn't for those healthpotions and an occassional heal, that team would've dropped like a sack of puppies.
I am thrilled DA:O is going to be challanging!
PS: Another thing I feel like adding... do NOTE that the player himself sort of apologized about his way of playing, and explained that playing a game like this is very hard in the setting he was in. I'm quite sure that if he was home alone, not running a videorecording program and not having people asking his ears off, he would've performed much better. Talking about all the **** he did wrong is simply pathetic.

Ironically I saw this video today. I was really impressed to how the game played. I really felt like if they were playing Kotor. The pausing the game stuff. Its the only game I've just recently played from bioware. My first bioware game was mass effect. So I decided to go back to its roots. No luck finding Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate yet though.
Another thing I learned from the video is that I have gained a new apreciation and respect for non related generic random NPCs like the Tower Guard. To think that the almighty Grey Wardens all fell to the floor and were saved by a normal guard.
Is it me or are all the warriors going to start pimped out at the beginning of the game. I can already see everyone starting their games in full Blood Dragon Armor and being followed by a huge golem. I've only seen the wizards getting a book and a staff. But what about armor or mage robes?

[/quote]I just meant it looked like a bad pug. Thats where the things I spoke of happen. I know that he prefaced the entire thing with "This is a bad run through I know" or something along that line.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. You don't see how having the monsters hit the armored warriors with shields rather than the only healer wearing a cloth robe would have made things easier?
As for the pathetic comment, well, you're entitled to your opinion same as I am. I don't remember him apologizing; I do remember him saying "I'm actually really good at RPGs, and this one is hard." I am lenient on him, but I still think it's funny that he found his taunt button too late to save his companions. I'm sorry you think that's pathetic of me?

For anyone who wants to see what the Xbox360 is doing with the graphics here is a video in HD from Teamxbox.
http://xboxmovies.te...Wynne-Fight-HD/
It doesn't have the UI in it, but it IS the 360 graphics. If you want to see what the UI looks like in Xbox360, look here:
I was not disappointed by any of this.. Well, at first I wasn't so sure about the radial menu thing, but after I saw the two groups of three hotbuttons (xyb, and shift with one of the triggers I think), I realized that's all I really need for controller management anyway.
At any rate, the graphics look pretty damn sweet on 360. More than that though, the control scheme is VERY user friendly. It plays exactly like Knight of the Old Republic with some minor exceptions (for those that don't already know). I hope this helps put your mind at ease, or at the very least confirms some things for you. I don't really feel forced into buying the Xbox360 version of the game because I don't have a powerful PC to run this game. Now, it is more of an asthetic choice. I haven't really seen a major graphical difference between the two platforms.
My guess is that the major difference will be accessability. If the interview on gamespot is to be believed (and hopefully it is), we should be getting player made content in the future as well as maybe the ability to make our own player content as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I am not sure, but I had the impression he himself had not played the part he was showing thoroughly before. If this is indeed the case, it's no surprise he didn't know about the taunt skill. Again: He was showing this to 'friends' and the fact this was going to be put online ran in the back of his head aswell. In this way, it is not at all a shame he didn't check the skills of his new-found tower-guard friend.
I simply don't see the need to 'flame' that guy by pointing at all his tactical errors. It's simply not fair considering the setting he was in while playing the game, is all.
