Nice to see that the game will retain the level of tactics needed like BG/NWN. I feared they'd casual it all up. Glad they kept it somewhat old school by allowing people to choose easy/med/hard etc.

For some reason watching it made me think of bad pugs I've run with in WoW. I think it was the way he used his taunt button *after* everyone else was dead. I think the sidekick commentary was what made it watchable. I couldn't stand watching the dev gameplay video. And yeah, that's a sick mustache.

That kinda makes no sense, what you're saying.

Before he taunted, he was practically warning the whole freakin' world that he was gonna do something stupid. But it was only Walter left standing and he couldn't do any other skills anyway. After the taunt he remembered he still had a stronger healing potion, which made Walter prevail.

If you're saying he should've used the taunt ability earlier, well... I can't see how that would've made things easier. Even the "tanks" were being hit hard.

Hehe.. if it wasn't for those healthpotions and an occassional heal, that team would've dropped like a sack of puppies.

I am thrilled DA:O is going to be challanging!

PS: Another thing I feel like adding... do NOTE that the player himself sort of apologized about his way of playing, and explained that playing a game like this is very hard in the setting he was in. I'm quite sure that if he was home alone, not running a videorecording program and not having people asking his ears off, he would've performed much better. Talking about all the **** he did wrong is simply pathetic. :D

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. You don't see how having the monsters hit the armored warriors with shields rather than the only healer wearing a cloth robe would have made things easier?

As for the pathetic comment, well, you're entitled to your opinion same as I am. I don't remember him apologizing; I do remember him saying "I'm actually really good at RPGs, and this one is hard." I am lenient on him, but I still think it's funny that he found his taunt button too late to save his companions. I'm sorry you think that's pathetic of me?

I am not sure, but I had the impression he himself had not played the part he was showing thoroughly before. If this is indeed the case, it's no surprise he didn't know about the taunt skill. Again: He was showing this to 'friends' and the fact this was going to be put online ran in the back of his head aswell. In this way, it is not at all a shame he didn't check the skills of his new-found tower-guard friend.

I simply don't see the need to 'flame' that guy by pointing at all his tactical errors. It's simply not fair considering the setting he was in while playing the game, is all.

He had played it before--he set up that segment as a part that would be spoiler-free and allow him to show different gameplay aspects. I'm pretty sure he intentionally set off the trap, for example, for "cinematic" purposes. I'm also pretty sure he knew about the taunt ability.

Besides, I wasn't even really flaming or criticizing the guy. If I had wanted to criticize the way he was playing, there were a lot of other things I could have mentioned. But, if you don't understand the humor of the situation, I just can't help you. My joke really wasn't aimed at you, so forget I said anything.

For anyone who wants to see what the Xbox360 is doing with the graphics here is a video in HD from Teamxbox.

That video is PC footage, it's the same video as here. Team Xbox just mirrors stuff from other sites - all their screenshots are from the PC version too. As far as I know the only console footage is from conventions, anything Bioware releases is from the PC version.

He built his character quite poorly. He dumped too many points into con and not enough into magic. At lv5, he should have access to tier 3 talents (25-28 magic), but he does not. It seems that is why his DPS is so low. Also, it seems he did not level up Alister. I laughed when he said "and I've been playing RPGs for years!" :)

It's from the dwarven noble campaign and spoiler-free unless you don't want to know how male dwarfs look in underwear.

The PC graphics seem to be leagues ahead of 360 gameplay I've seen. Not exactly surprising, but somewhat dissapointing becuase my PC can't play the game.

Indeed, I was kinda 'shocked' by the environmental graphics on the 360, although not at all surprising.

Good thing my PC is a beast high on testosteron.

Edit: 'PC' as in 'Personal Computer'.

Haha, after seeing the video I think I will undress my dwarf aswell, because that half-naked dwarf looked hilarious!

But hey guys, did you notice how much easier the game looked in Xbox 360 preview compared to the PC one? Did they play it on easy setting?

Plus the guys are hilarious.

I really enjoyed it too. I've bookmarked the site for future reference. Had no idea it existed until now.

The site was made by the guy that got fired from Gamespot for giving a low score on a review of a pretty big title.

Ah! I am very tempted to look at all those videos xD
But I really don't want to spoil anything before the release, I have already peeked a tad to much lately heh.

That is the best gameplay video that was released of Dragon Age: Origins. I watched it about 2 weeks ago and they really sold me that the game would be awesome. They're definitely not the best player but they showed you could have fun playing the game.

And seriously.. long life to the Tower Guard!

I so agreed to that commentary when he said that ingame cutscenes are fantastic due to all the fun stuff you can do with them!

I'm definitely going to save the game before the Grey Warden initiation cutscene starts and redo it the second time with all the characters in their underwear XD Childish, perhaps, but hilarious too ^^

I dont think that the console versions look at all bad, in fact, the difference between the 360 version and the pc version isnt really THAT noticeble from what I´ve seen so far.

The environment textures are significantly worse on the 360. I think there's no denying that. Other than that I think all is nicely balanced due to handling memory well on consoles, like more groups of fewer enemies on consoles and fewer groups of more enemies on the PC.
