The one that is in Awakening is the only one of mine that didn't have something more important to do or is dead.
Yup. And if I do use my canon Warden to play Awakening if I do buy it, I'll imagine that what happens is just a dream and he wakes up with all his companions still with him.

Speak for yourself please, some people want importing the dead warden, some people are sticklers for story continuity...
You quite obviously haven't read the 30 threads here where people are upset they don't have the option to bring the decisions from the dead warden forward while the dead warden stays dead. Those who want to bring their dead warden back to life have that option, those who don't but still want the decisions carried forward don't. People have been asking for the latter not the former since the former is already available. Thus all the posts telling people that they can import their dead warden are of no use when that's not what people are asking for.
What amazes me is that people have a hard time grasping the fact that most people are aware that they can resurrect their dead warden and no one is asking for that, obviously, because it's already available in-game. So yes, when I say that people have been asking for the ability to import the decisions without the resurrection that is indeed what people have been asking for.
When I said 'we' decided in another thread that spin-off is a better term for Awakening, I meant exactly what I said. That a few people in a different thread agreed that was a more accurate description than expansion. Does that mean that you were part of that or that I included you in the word 'we'? Nope, sure doesn't. In the future I'll be sure to run my posts by you for approval prior to making an offhand comment about something that was discussed in a different thread so this type of misunderstanding can be avoided.

As far as items transferring, I had no problem with either Stone Prisioner or RTO items. The only item I care even remotely about from WK was Starfang.
As far as continuity, do not really care. I play for entertainment value and it makes for a fun diversion.
But, YMMV

QFT. I've never quite understood why people just take it upon themselves to decide these things and then expect everyone else to take it seriously.

Importing your dead warden now brings them back to life. That's not what people want.
It would be fine if it made any sense or was given any reason.
Not even a good reason. Any reason.
It's not that Bioware wrote a bad segment of story - that's a forgivable thing. It's that they didn't even write one.

I've never understood why people see the word 'we' and automatically assume that they are being included in that word.

It tends to happen when you don't make yourself clear.

When they first started talking about importing your old characters, I was under the impression that you'd be able to keep the decisions of the dead warden and just play as an Orlesian. I could've sworn that I saw a dev say that it was going to work that way if you wanted it to. Don't know if it's faulty memory on my part, or if it changed at some point though.

Tends to happen when people assume, actually. I pretty clearly said 'in another thread', which in itself implies that it has nothing to do with you or anyone else who wasn't in that thread and/or didn't agree with those of us who came to that conclusion. To assume that it's implied you or anyone else is included in the word 'we' is no fault of mine and actually shows quite a bit of arrogance on the part of the assumer as if there can be no 'we' without them.

So by taking your post at face value means I'm arrogant.
Flying leaps of logic FTW.

Say this aloud. "We are mad" or "We are excellent". See...
Reviving dead wardens...mostly naked...blood DRAGON armour in DRAGON age not transferring...one day I'll learn to look at forums before running to Amazon and ordering, and not take a peek while waiting for delivery. Maybe there will be a patch by the time its gets here...

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe that at the end of Origins in the epilogue it states that the companions went their separate ways. For example , Shale went either to Tevinter or back to the Deep Roads. Sten went home. Zev and Wynne went traveling. Morrigan is off somewhere in Frostback mountains etc. So why would they be with your warden in Awakenings?

That's true for some of the companions, but not all, for example Leliana says she's going to stay with my warden and help rebuild the grey wardens, yet in the expansion while you do exactly that she's nowhere to be seen. Not that it's a big deal, just a hole in the story, kinda funny how that happened that the one person who said they would stay didn't.
I just want my dog back.

Interesting...
We know its an expansion (srsy, you think were that stupid?) but considering there is virtually no ref to what happened in origins, to use the term 'expansion' is a little hard to accept. also on that point, you ever seen a game labelled as a 'spin-off/extra, add on?
No, didnt think so, thus why they called it an expansion. To some of us, while there is no other word to describe it, its hardly an expansion, its more like a very long and deep DLC, not an expansion.

But.... it is an expansion.... you just don't get to make up the definition of things. You're the fanbase. Not the creators.

(I'll smack anyone who says, "Clear your cache and restart." Been there. Done that. Several times.)
Anyway, please help because having to reopen all specializations again in Origins blows.I would have never bought Awakenings had I known.
Even when I went to play Awakenings a second time, all the new specializations were locked. WTF?!

When I heard about this Orlesian Warden "Origin" I assumed that the whole purpose was to allow continuity with a dead Warden... I mean, why else would you have that?
