so I push the button to open up the game disc holder and it stops opening halfway through now my x-box 360 elite won't turn on...

Awesome. My pro did that once, he's not raedong discs sometimes. But he hasn't done any bad thing that big so I forgive him.

Do you have the 360 plugged into a surge protector. If so try a different one. Also check the color of the light on the power supply orange when the 360 not on and green when its on if its red there is a short some where. Good news is it most likely isn't the 360 the most expansive part that could be broken is the power supply it self.
