Ok so I created this awesome dwarf dual wielding warrior that seems pretty much unstoppable. I played through the Origins and had some tough spots and died here and there but overall a bit too easy even on nightmare difficulty.
From what I've heard awakening is even easier...
Any suggestions to make more of a challenge? Stop using a mage healer in companion? I do like Anders but the healer combined with my light armor wielding powerhouse is a pretty deadly combination, much to the point of every battle being won without too much thinking, other than "hmm should I use whirlwind or just watch the show".
so you died here and there,, and yet you say its easy... lol

Anyone consider just playing with your party in their undies, maybe boots or helmet and an weapon?Jewelry within the rules....
I don't have DA:A yet but two games I've got going in DA:O are:
1) Nightmare solo w/ Pure Caster Mage (no points in BM or SH)
Stipulation: Naked. Only piece of gear allowed the whole game is that Iron Staff of Magic acquired in the origin.
Status: Cleared Lothering, Honnleath and a few random encounters (incl wolves). Actually hasn't been too difficult. Major Lyrium pot spam.
2) Nightmare DW Warrior w/ Alistair, Morrigan & Leliana
Stipulation: All gear used must be acquired prior to leaving Lothering
Stipulation: Computer will handle all level ups
Status: Just started

- No Lyrium Potions ever. All Lyrium potions are treated as vendor trash, this immediately makes mana regen spells (Spell Bloom, Rejuvination etc) and Willpower not redundant. I personally cant believe the developers are this dumb, they made both these things redundant the moment they made Lyrium potions infinite. This rule also means mages arent unstoppable juggernauts of power (cause they havent got unlimited resource), and you actually have to spend points in willpower (therefore your magic doesnt become ludicrously high therefore spells arent doing insane damage/durations) and have some mana management skill on longer fights etc.
- Avoid/Limit "cheese" spells. These are the spells that completely trivilise loads of content. I always love the way people complain about something being "so easy" yet they cheesed their way through the entire game, using things such as forcefield tanking, casting AoE's over walls into rooms before even opening the door etc. (tho you can get an addon to add LoS to those spells which I do use).
- Limit Health Poultice use or treat them the same way as Lyrium potions, I personally allow 1 health Poultice per combat per character.
And there are a few other things you can do to increase the difficulty of the game without feeling as though you are missing out on much. Just these 3 rules above will enhance the difficulty alot and it wont be imposing any, what I consider, silly limitations liek no armour etc. Each to their own tho.
