There are many ways to pronounce this word, some are sanctioned by the codified books and others are not.

The same can be said of all words. That doesn't mean all of them are correct.

Again...

I have never heard the word said differently than how it is said in game.  Therefore it can be concluded for my case that it is at LEAST a local variation (or dialect).  There is no black or white on this issue since language itself defies boundries.  Go ahead and bash your head against the wall... but it does not change the fact in MY area of the world the word golem is pronounced "golum".

OK, here is Mr Gaider's post to me. Koralis, it appears you were right about the pronunciation being deliberate. Here:

It's not accidental. The word "golem" comes from Hebrew mythology, but the golems in DA are not those creatures. Someone can argue it if they wish, but it's like arguing that the medusas in D&D should properly be called "gorgons" because Medusa was simply the name of a specific gorgon. The derivation is unimportant, so long as it's consistent. That's how I see it, anyhow.

Right, right.  It's sheer coincidence that the name Bioware used for animated stone men is "golem", which just happens to be the hebrew word for.......animated stone men.  And then they arbitrarily picked a different pronunciation?  What is it with game developers admitting mistakes.  Sounds like someone flubbed the pronunciationa, and it got perpetuated.
