Maybe Old Republic has been delayed?
Actually 02/2011 would be ahead of the projected release for Old Republic. If I remember right Spring 2011 was the timeframe floating around for it.

And pump up the difficulty/balance, yeesh.

It would be strange to start marketing an expansion this far out. Whilst a full sequel would take a lot of work. So I am not sure they would confidently announce a date now.
It could be the launch of some new online social experience, a website or merchandise product. Or just the launch of the DA2 marketing campaign for a late 2011 release.

hope not. they rushed awakenings and it sucked. Dragon Age 2 better be good, we don't get strat rpgs like these no more.

Awakening sucked? Maybe you should find another franchise because it has been well recieved by the public. Its been in development since April of 09 (when DAO was originally going to come out), so I wouldn't consider that rushed. I suspect you're just trolling anyways, so I guess I fell for it.

Supposedly the second part of the three
part trilogy from what I understand. Of course, it could be delayed but
who knows.
I really doubt 02/01/2011 is a sequel. That would be pretty fast. My personal guess is another expansion. The DAO franchise is hot right now and why not stretch it out some? And this is EA we're talking about. The same company that gave us countless Sims expansions. I would love to see another 60+ hour game in the series, but realistically, that shouldn't come until late 2012, but of course this is ALL speculation. As far as I know, its a sequel and they're just pushing it out really fast.
I really wish we could see a lot more DLC. I'm willing to shell out five to twenty dollars on a few hours of content, I love this series that much. I never thought I'd say this, but EA please milk this like you do everything else.

Really? Awakening sucked? Register the game then say that.

A trilogy? Is this official or are you just joking? I got the impression that Dragon Age was an IP that would support independent games for however long people were interested in it. I thought the next game was going to be set in Thedas, but not necessarily be a sequel to Origins.

So based on what someone else has said, you've already formed your opinion? Saying something sucks is a strong thing to say about something you know nothing about.

I haven't heard about a trilogy either. I know Mass Effect is supposed to be, maybe they got them mixed up? I haven't heard anything about it being set in Thedas either. Where did you hear that? I would've thought it would be in Orlais because of all the references to it. Just my guess.

Oh I haven't heard that and want to make that clear that it was pure speculation on my part. But since Thedas is all we've seen of the Dragon Age universe (or have we seen more?), and since it's big enough for more than one game, I just assumed.
I mean, Thedas is big. Let's quote the wikia page:
"Thedas is a continent in the southern hemisphere. It contains the Anderfels, Antiva, The Free Marches, Ferelden, Nevarra, Orlais, Par Vollen, Rivain, Seheron, the Tevinter Imperium, and other, currently unnamed, countries."

I have certain 'complaints' about origins. All of these complaints (ease, skill unbalance, post-level-12 gameplay) play a bigger role in Awakenings.Bryzon wrote...

Also, I know nobody who has said anything good about it. At least, anything good regarding what improvements I want Bioware to make. If it is simply the 'story' that is decent, I can buy another full game for 40$.
I'm entitled to point out why the price is unappealing. Heck, even basic things such as 'bugs' and 'incompatibility' are enough of a reason for anyone to bash the 'expansion'.
I don't need to drive a bike to know i'll be cold when riding in the winter.

Yes, you are entitled to having an opinion. But it is not fair to people that have not played the game for you to just come out and say it sucks when you've not even loaded it up. You might not think it'll be good, but you won't know until you try it. Having complaints about Origins is one thing, but does not give you any room to talk about the expansion. I really don't care if you'll like it or not. But atleast give it a try before you decide it sucks and tell other people that you think it sucks.
You obviously are wanting to try it, or you wouldn't be reading this board. Why not just give it a shot? Rental is always an option. But stop trying to convince yourself it sucks so you wont have to get it.
Maybe so, but you personally won't know how cold it really is until you go outside.ccconda wrote...

The biggest problem is that 'trying' Awakenings will cost me around 45 bucks. I'm a customer who is supposed to be either convinced or discouraged, and I am discouraged for very good reasons. Leave it be.
