Make sure you dont talk to her after that. Thats what I did, and I got my morrigan romance ending in Dragon Age Awakening.

1.) Yet having her set to love at the end of Origins makes it so you don't get the mention of Morrigan feeling sorrow and regret through the ring.
Wtf? All this time that what the problem was? lol, I replayed human noble like 3 times over thinking it was my mods or something that screwed up the slides.
I just finished DA:A and I got confused since I got the Morrigan slide in Awakening but not in Origins

Yeah, I believe that in order to trigger the whole Morrigan feeling sorrow and regret through the ring epilogue in Origins you have to have spoken with her after the Ritual where she breaks up with you and she goes back to friendship.
I THINK thats the primary factor, possibly also having the ring equipped and saying you'll search for her will let you get the sorrow and regret ending in Origins. But if you get that in Origins it means Morrigan has been set to friend so if you take that save to Awakening, you won't get the "searching for Morrigan" epilogue in Awakening.
So unless you mess around with the console or give her the mirror in the post-epilogue save, its not possible to get both the sorrow and regret ending in Origins plus the Searching for Morrigan slide in Awakening, unless a dev would be willing to correct me.
Its not the only thing bugged in Awakening, thats for sure.

It's the only factor - wearing the ring and saying you'll hunt her to the ends of the earth does nothing if she's still flagged as an active romance. I can confirm that myself having redone my Aedan Cousland game from the Landsmeet on (I wanted to play RtO and do Shale's quest and a couple other things, so it was far from only being motivated by Morrigan) last week.
I've been planning on starting a human mage for a while now, so I'll make sure and give the mirror trick a try about a week from now.

Nothing- I got the positive approval but it doesn't do anything to make her go back to love once she is friendly. I suppose unless you want to dig around for the actual trigger, the best way to get both epilogue might be to hold off on giving her the mirror until the post epilogue save, although I haven;t tried that yet.

At the end of Origins, I had Morrigan at "love" and still talked to her at the final battle... her approval *DID NOT* drop.
I then got the proper "ring" epilogue...
I am very interested to see if I get the proper epilogue in Awakening.
If not... expect many ranting posts and threads!!

You're redoing a character just for that slide? Don't bother. It's not your fault if Awakening didn't recognized it. The slide was supposed to be there for everyone that romanced her, but it's not because the ring epilogue messes up the approval.SDNcN wrote...
You know what is really eally sad?
I'm redoing my entire mage character specificly so I can get this epilogue instead of the generic one.
I don't really care to be honest but I sympathise with anyone that wanted a mention. People who romanced Morrigan got a pretty bad ending indeed . Now Bioware decides to throw a bone to Morrigan fans but they didn't calculate the approval shft at the end(which happened to the majority of players as I can tell).
Dissapointing, but it's not worth getting upset enough to redo a DAO playthrough. You did nothing wrong.
Most of my first playthrough i never ccared about talking to morrigan after the gate goodbye.Everything has been said .. Why torture her more? She broke up with your warden. The end.

FWIW, I figured I would mess around with the console commands to see if simply spawning the mirror and re-gifting it to Morrigan in the epilogue save would fire the romance trigger back to love.

Did it trigger the cutscene again when you gave her the mirror in the epilogue save?

Nope- it just treated it like a normal gift, no cutscene, she commented on it like a normal gift but since she was at 100 anyway there wasn't any increase in approval.
Must be that once you give it to her once, it doesn't re-trigger the cutscene since you've mayeb already hit some trigger by giving it to her the 1st time?

I suspected as much. It's kind of like Andraste's Grace with Leliana, where you can (legitimately) find more than one, but only the first one gives you the cutscene and the qualitative shift in her feelings towards you. So I guess the people who used the mirror more than once must've been doing something extra, then...

Her approval does not drop, but she still breaks up with you so you won't get the Morrigan epilogue in Awakeing.Stoomkal wrote...

Doesn't she "break up" with you regardless, though? I mean, she basically starts breaking up with you from the moment you agree to the ritual - her comments at the gates and during the final battle itself are essentially her reaffirming things she's already said.

Yes and no, she tells you that she has to leave you after you kill the Archdemon and its said that you guys break up, but unless you talk to her during the battle of Denerim the game never reconizes that you guys broke up so the romance will then carry over into Awakeing.Booglarize wrote...

plan to do about it. As only other option for me is to restart my Elf Mage from the beginning to get the proper Awakening Epilogue, which is what I am currently working on.

Is there a way to check the qualitative status (i.e. "love" or "friendly") of a relationship on the console (XBOX 360 or PS3)? For any of the uninitiatied, I'm not talking about the quantitative status (0 -100 approval rating) of a relationship.
I didn't think there was. Playing on a 360, I've never actually checked since I've always relied on the PC players to tell me what the qualitative status was of any relationship.

The devs seem irritated with the romance fans in general, so I wouldn't expect a fix. The Zev epilogue slide directly contradicts the epilogue from Origins that people got if they went to rebuild the Wardens even as a friend with him. The letters from Zev and Lel that were written and can be found with the toolset were apparently cut from the game. The only romance that wasn't brushed off was for those who married Allistair, in which case your PC is deliriously happy with him even if it was a political marriage with your PC in love with another character entirely. Given time a modder will fix it for the PC version, and the consoles will be stuck with the bugs. The devs are unlikely to fix it.
