The problem is the epilogue which pretty much fails to wrap up the story for any Warden, not just the one who romanced Morri.

Unless of course you did the US ending which is pretty much the only ending that gives closure. But then Awakening came along and the ending got scrapped.

Now the only endings we have are the ones where you abandon your post as the GW Commander and disappear(romance or no). Even the Wardens who have duties as queen/king got the same.

Yeah the Awakening ending really hints that the Warden should come back to do something down the road. Or BioWare is just having them "vanish" because they don't even know what they want to maybe/maybe not do with them in the future.

I will be curious how the whole hand waving zombie US Warden thing gets handled in the future- either that means they're trying to canonize the DR or maybe it just means the DR doesn't matter much. Or maybe its best to just ignore Awakening and hope DA2 just picks up with the end of Origins and just canonize the Architect or something.
11 days until E3!

Oh and 4 more pages up on Ximena's comic! http://ximena07.devi...t.com/#/d2qxtj8

Not exactly a rainbow and sunshine reunion, but its something!

Which is great news because it can only mean one of two things. A)Bioware has completely lost the plot and has no clue how to end a story anymore, or B)They were freeing people up from 'rigid endings' to open them up to continuation in some sort of follow up game.

By comparison, KOTOR 1 and Jade Empire were stand alone stories that had
a terrific ending.

KOTOR makes me mad. They took such a fine, completed ending and just completely and totally trashed it in the sequel. Honestly, I have no faith in Obsidian.

Agreed, Mages are way overpowered, but it's just not my bag. I like to
pretend I know what I'm doing when I level them, but I usually just
focus of 3-4 abilities and pile on from there.

I might have agreed with you until I started playing this Rogue. I have literally checked five or six times to make sure I didn't accidently lower the difficulty, he's just brutalizing everything. I did the Circle Tower right out of the gate on Nightmare Plus without Mana Clash and didn't have a single problem in any of the fights, even the Desire Demons and their army of Templars. Rogue's natural evasion, some spell resist runes/gear = You are so screwed, enemies.

I love Mages for the story firstmost, it's grand and epic and spiritual without being religious (unless you want to embrace the Chantry aspect, and then you can have that too). Plus the micro management of the class, and setting up personal combos and paired combos with another caster (Morrigan is a DPS/Hexer for me, so we set each up for combos constantly...it's brutal).

I understand movie rights have been purchased for Mass Effect
(Legendary?). That's interesting. Of course rights were acquired for
HALO (never made) and DOOM (unfortunately made) too.

I'll see it, but I'm not super psyched for it. ME was great because it was a RPG that played like a movie, so I don't know how that's going to translate. I will say I'm more excited for a ME movie than the silliness I'm hearing about the WoW movie.

Originally I thought my sword & shield warrior was near immortal,
looking back however I think it's probably the weakest class overall

Sword and Board was my first character, and if built correctly they become unstoppable juggernauts that just tear through enemies. Taking on piles of enemies, shrugging off hits, and regaining stamina as they drop allows you to gear them for damage and just chew through foes.

Yeah Awakening just makes everything way too easy

The biggest thing was they gave ever class a 'You are dead if you stand near me' button. I mean, honestly, AOE abilities that instantly kill any white con target? Mages who you CANNOT fight except at range?

Just bad talent building.

Working on some Morrigan kisses today. here are some screenshots. I just
pulled apart the dwarves so she will have both male and female dwarf
kisses.

Damn you Charsen. I'm trying so hard to do a Non-Morrigan playthrough and you drop this on me. Must...resist...shoes...flowers..yeah, they...rock...Chantry...rah...yeah...

Though I love playing as rogues myself, it's not the actual "rogue" part
that I like. I simply like having a warrior who can pick locks, use
poisons, gets a bit of extra damage from behind, and can be a duelist.

I'm loving the Rogue class atm. I'm wearing Leather to keep my aggro down atm, but I could easily see wearing heavier armor in a few levels. Maybe I'll collect the Chevalier gear so I can strut into the Landsmeet with Leliana and be like 'Orlais? Us? Naaaaah, you so crazy!'. But combat stealth is the most ridiculous thing ever, I love it. Bombs. Poisons. Backstabs. It's fantastic.

I didn't plan to use lockpicking on my rogue and have Leliana do it, but lately (especially in Wardens Keep), my rogue is stumbling into traps because I outdistance her perception range I guess. I may have to look into it.

BTW, quite a bit off topic here, but who is your ideal kick-ass team in
ME2?

I love having a Biotic Shep which may explain my love of Magi in this game. Garrus is a given, he's my badass best friend, brother from another culture! Other than those two, I'm pretty fluid in any setup.

If the next expansion is like Awakening then I am offically not going to
waste my money again. Wardens Keep was way more fun and rewarding.

I am so torn on Awakening. If anyone asks me right now, I tell them don't waste your money. It's the case of that movie everyone has seen. It starts off ok, it starts to get good in the middle, you move towards a new arc and it's pulling you in...then it stops. It ends so badly it ruins the entire experience.

Awakening had a ton I liked. I liked the new conversation system, just not as a standalone system. It would be great to see DA2 use a 50/50 Origins/Awakening convo system. Nathaniel and Justice were just AWESOME characters, and other than Morrigan and maybe (maybe!) Alistair, the best NPCs in Dragons Age. Sigrun was pretty cool too. The new specializations were awesome and better than Origins on the whole story-wise, just balanced for utter crap. The Heraldry option was fantastic. And the story was building to something really awesome, it just needed another 10-12 hours on the game at the very least. The Architect had..literally..1 minute of screen time? The mother even less?

When I first saw the endings I was pretty much certain it was B. But then I found about the bugged epilogues and how terrible the importation system was. And now we have Crapspawn Chronicles....

I wouldn't be surprised if it's A. I don't know what to expect from them.

Right now we can expect just about anything.

While it's true that the original plan as to tell stand alone stories set in different parts of Thedas, it's also true that plans change all the time.

Like we already said, there is nothing that would prevent Bioware from continuing Warden's story for one more game. There is also nothing that says they can't ignore it and move on to something else.

Or.. we could get a sort of compromise and a mix between the two.

It's this unceirtainty that is truly killing me right now.

Besides DA and ME, I'm really curious what else they're working on. They've got the Montreal studio which is seemingly working on multiplayer for ME, but in most interviews with Muzyka and Zeschuk they're almost always mentioning things they're working on that haven't been announced yet.

As BioWare gets bigger though I'm just worried that the quality of the games will suffer- its like the Edmonton BioWare hub IS BioWare to me- they made BG, KOTOR, DA, ME. But now you've got Austin and Montreal and its like they're diluting the talent they've got. Who knows- just have to see what they churn out next before you can make any educated decision.

I'm curious about The Old Republic, only because its Star Wars that hasn't been ruined by George Lucas but the fact that its an MMO just kills it for me. The whole subscription aspect of MMO's just has no appeal to me at all.

Personally, I can't wait to see more of Dead Space 2- I've been playing through that recently again and its such a great sounding game. Its so atmospheric! I truly believe that the Deep Roads should take a cue from Dead Space- I think if those areas of the game had better lighting , shadows and were just more atmospheric and scary, they wouldn't seem like such a tedious dungeon crawl.

In any event, I'm really excited to see DA2- I really want to see how improved the visuals are going to be. The fact that both ME2 and BG2 have been amazing BioWare sequels gives me faith that DA2 should be awesome. Of course, having Morrigan and the Warden return would be an easy way to make DA2 super awesome, but I just hope BioWare sees it that way too B)

The Old Republic era is far more interesting to me than the whole Skywalker saga that George Lucas seems to be obsessed with.

The original trilogy was fine, but I feel that since then he's been trying to project his craze with a particular family on to the audience and this has only caused some people, like myself, to get fed up with Star Wars.

Kotor drew me back in and I feel it has layed down a much healthier foundations for future SW stories.

Now they just need to keep Lucas away from it as much as possible...

However, even if she does not that still doesn't mean she won't be in the game itself.

Haha- me too. I'm trying to keep my expectations in check or rather non existent. I can imagine a million scenarios but a teaser trailer with Morrigan or Claudia Black's voice in it for DA2= WIN.

But will we see that? Only BioWare knows. But if the 2/1/2011 title is DA2, then E3 is the perfect time to start the hype for it. After all thats about 7.5 months to February  once E3 comes and goes and many games scheduled to be released early 2011 have already been unveiled and teased. Unless of course BioWarEA thinks people will get sick of too much DA since Awakening just came out a couple months ago or if DA2 doesn't look "super hot" yet.

Whatever that 2/1/2010 titles turns out to be it will be DA related.

Granted it could just as well be another expansion, but something tells me it's way more than that.

And I don't think people will really get sick of DA. As long as Bioware maintains the same standard they've set with Origins people will buy their games.

My one concern with E3 is that I'll be watching the EA conference and waiting and waiting for a DA announcement and then.... nothing. It will be like playing Awakening all over again, going through the epilogue expecting the Morrigan one and waiting and waiting and then... nothing.

I'm cautiously optimistic we'll get a DA reveal at E3 though- while it makes sense BioWarEA wants to hype TOR because of their massive investment in it, its still not scheduled to come out until after Q4 2011 (past March 31). But then again, the longer we go with no info on the 2/1/2011 DA thing, the more I'll expect its only an expansion pack or something. But the whole inclusion of a handheld version makes me think its got to be DA2. Basically all I know for sure is that 2/1/2011 will have something DA related.:wizard:

I'd scale those hopes back if I were you. On a list of big name companies that are supposed to show the the expo, IGN didn't add Bioware to their list and TOR was under Lucasarts banner. Maybe it's because they're gonna show up and bust out a surprise, but not being mentioned at all does make me worry. Also, I've noticed some of us have been ragging on good old uncle George. Come on guys, if it weren't for him, SW wouldn't even exist. It's his property and he can do what he wants to it. It's kind of like with DA, we get really attached to it and want it to live up to all of these expectations, however in the end, Bioware created it and could do whatever the hell they want with it. Yes, the prequals are crappy compared to the legendary Original trilogy, but for what they are, I love them. I love SW as a whole and will watch any of the movies with equal enjoyment.

Also I relistened to Morrigans dialouge in the end, and I really have to change my mind on her she geuinly seems sad that she is leaving. So I hope to see her again. Oh yeah I also want to see Fable 3 at E3 it looks cool.

Well, given that BioWare's only officially announced project is TOR, I'd guess we'll at least get an announcement + teaser for the 2/1/2011 DA thing. I mean it just seems to be the nature of video games that you usually announce well in advance of the game's release to get the seed planted in people's minds that the game is coming. I don't necessarily expect tons of gameplay footage or anything necessarily, but a teaser for the 2/1/2011 thing would be good and not too much to expect, I think.

Yeah, I don't hate Lucas or anything, but at least with the prequels- ugh. They had potential to be pretty damn good and outside of the last half of Episode 3, were rather "meh." I think Lucas just needed a good producer like Gary Kurtz to reign himself in at times, but instead once Kurtz left you got Ewoks in Jedi and then the prequels.

But yeah, if BioWare wants to have cute talking puppies riding on unicorns across lush green, sun drenched meadows in DA2, hey thats their call. But if thats the case, BioWare won't be getting my $$$. I think its just a matter of BioWare (or Lucas if you like) acknowledging the strengths of their previous efforts and keying off of those for future endeavors. Sure they could do anything they want, but at least with Lucas, just becausse you've got the money and technology to do something doesn't mean you should :) *cough* Jar-Jar *cough*

You really ought to buy a 360.  There really is a lot of content you miss.  Having said that, I need to upgrade my PC for full utilitarian gaming and capturing mods and general flexibility.  Seriously, the 360 (no to PS3--framerates are not good) is a good thing to have in the house/apt. XBOX Live, despite the $50 annual fee, (which you must have to get the full experience) has massive free content and of course pay DLC.  Red Dead is completely badass, but you have to take my friend's word for it, because I'm still obsessing on AO2 trying to get my 6666 achievement, which is a helluva lot harder than it sounds.  He and I are going to hook up for a little co-op Red Dead in the near future, which is coming soon I'm told. You may even want to give Gears of War a try to see where Bioware got their gameplay from for ME.  Best multi-player bar none (only my opinion of course, but I have played it for years now).

I can't say enough for the multi-player experience on XBL.  That alone is worth the price for me.

BTW, you'll get use to the controller quick enough.  It's all situational buttoning and sticks, but it may take a little time to get used to having been used to the perfect targeting of the mouse.

You can pick up an Elite now for $299.  Pretty good price and black is bad.  Don't think of it as your main gaming device, but definitely have one for all those games you really want to play but either can't get for or don't want to wait to come out for PC.  I have alot of friends who have both.  One is a WoW crackhead and Gears fanatic, so you definitely won't be alone on dual platforms.

Let me know if you ever get on and I'll send you my gamertag.

I played around with some saves to hear Morrigan's lines in all their versions in Redcliffe and I only now have found out that she seems truly sad about not telling her friend about what was to come. Still am annoyed but I really felt bad about messing with the Soul of an Old God. She cant really know what will happen right?

1. What if the force is still evil and we now have an evil super-mage controlling a blight.

2. What if the Spawn follow the child? Since they follow the song an OG emits not the taint

3. What if she wants to pull a Flemeth on the kid?

To many questions, and not enough answers for me.

Thats the thing- only Gaider and the writers know the answers to these questions. Although I personally doubt Morrigan wants to pull a Flemeth on the OGB. But as for how much Morrigan knows about the consequences of the DR or what her plan is exactly with the OGB, nobody knows. And even if we knew what her plan was, we have no idea that whatever she has brewing will go according to plan. So many unanswered questions, thus why I'd at least like to have Morrigan back and have my Warden be the one getting some of the answers.

Too true.... Oh my g-d.... what if Gaider comes across these posts and decides to play some sick twisted joke on DA fans and makes Jar Jar into a manditory companion that can't leave (like Alistair)? ABORT ABORT!!!!!

Ya, we can only hope that BW will listen to us. I mean trying different things is great and all, but when Ray was talking about how DA was for the really hard-core Bioware fans, I couldn't help but feel that they were being a bit hypocritical with releasing Awakening with that g-d aweful convo system (it's pretty much ME2's system which they claimed was for the more casual players) and a hack-n-slash DLC. Of course this interview with Ray was before both of these things came out, but still.

Another thing that's been bugging me. I hate people (well I don't actually hate them, but you get what I mean) who claim that we (we being supporters of continuity and Morrigan) can't just let it go and move on. What they don't realize I think, is that we're more than happy to start a new story with a new protagonist, THE SECOND THAT THe CURRENT STORY IS ACTUALLY FINISHED. It's like what if SW (such a great franchise for making comparisons, I loves me some SW Posted Image) just ended on ep. 5 and moved on to the prequals or episode seven (and ep. 7 didn't follow the Skywalker line and just mentioned it here and there). WTF? Would people really be ok with that? Sure, ep. 5 ended well enough with that nice shot at the end, but what about the empire? What about Han? Vader being Luke's daddy-o? Leaving things up to the viewer or player in this case is great once in a while, but when the loose plot line is that interesting and important, why wouldn't you tie it up? Continuity is the way to go IMO, sure there are those that want an all new story, but from what I've seen on the forums, the majority wants this story to be wrapped up properly. BW would really be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't tie them up one way or another. And I don't mean through codex entires either...

But like the both of us said, it's their property, they own it, they can and should do whatever they want with it.
