Now the only endings we have are the ones where you abandon your post as
the GW Commander and disappear(romance or no). Even the Wardens who
have duties as queen/king got the same. ../../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.pngWhich is great news because it can only mean one of two things. A)Bioware has completely lost the plot and has no clue how to end a story anymore, or B)They were freeing people up from 'rigid endings' to open them up to continuation in some sort of follow up game.
By comparison, KOTOR 1 and Jade Empire were stand alone stories that had
a terrific ending.KOTOR makes me mad. They took such a fine, completed ending and just completely and totally trashed it in the sequel. Honestly, I have no faith in Obsidian.
Agreed, Mages are way overpowered, but it's just not my bag. I like to
pretend I know what I'm doing when I level them, but I usually just
focus of 3-4 abilities and pile on from there. I might have agreed with you until I started playing this Rogue. I have literally checked five or six times to make sure I didn't accidently lower the difficulty, he's just brutalizing everything. I did the Circle Tower right out of the gate on Nightmare Plus without Mana Clash and didn't have a single problem in any of the fights, even the Desire Demons and their army of Templars. Rogue's natural evasion, some spell resist runes/gear = You are so screwed, enemies.
I love Mages for the story firstmost, it's grand and epic and spiritual without being religious (unless you want to embrace the Chantry aspect, and then you can have that too). Plus the micro management of the class, and setting up personal combos and paired combos with another caster (Morrigan is a DPS/Hexer for me, so we set each up for combos constantly...it's brutal).
I understand movie rights have been purchased for Mass Effect
(Legendary?). That's interesting. Of course rights were acquired for
HALO (never made) and DOOM (unfortunately made) too.I'll see it, but I'm not super psyched for it. ME was great because it was a RPG that played like a movie, so I don't know how that's going to translate. I will say I'm more excited for a ME movie than the silliness I'm hearing about the WoW movie.
Originally I thought my sword & shield warrior was near immortal,
looking back however I think it's probably the weakest class overallSword and Board was my first character, and if built correctly they become unstoppable juggernauts that just tear through enemies. Taking on piles of enemies, shrugging off hits, and regaining stamina as they drop allows you to gear them for damage and just chew through foes.
Yeah Awakening just makes everything way too easyThe biggest thing was they gave ever class a 'You are dead if you stand near me' button. I mean, honestly, AOE abilities that instantly kill any white con target? Mages who you CANNOT fight except at range?
Just bad talent building.
Working on some Morrigan kisses today. here are some screenshots. I just
pulled apart the dwarves so she will have both male and female dwarf
kisses. Damn you Charsen. I'm trying so hard to do a Non-Morrigan playthrough and you drop this on me. Must...resist...shoes...flowers..yeah, they...rock...Chantry...rah...yeah...
Though I love playing as rogues myself, it's not the actual "rogue" part
that I like. I simply like having a warrior who can pick locks, use
poisons, gets a bit of extra damage from behind, and can be a duelist.I'm loving the Rogue class atm. I'm wearing Leather to keep my aggro down atm, but I could easily see wearing heavier armor in a few levels. Maybe I'll collect the Chevalier gear so I can strut into the Landsmeet with Leliana and be like 'Orlais? Us? Naaaaah, you so crazy!'. But combat stealth is the most ridiculous thing ever, I love it. Bombs. Poisons. Backstabs. It's fantastic.
I didn't plan to use lockpicking on my rogue and have Leliana do it, but lately (especially in Wardens Keep), my rogue is stumbling into traps because I outdistance her perception range I guess. I may have to look into it.
BTW, quite a bit off topic here, but who is your ideal kick-ass team in
ME2? I love having a Biotic Shep which may explain my love of Magi in this game. Garrus is a given, he's my badass best friend, brother from another culture! Other than those two, I'm pretty fluid in any setup.
If the next expansion is like Awakening then I am offically not going to
waste my money again. Wardens Keep was way more fun and rewarding.I am so torn on Awakening. If anyone asks me right now, I tell them don't waste your money. It's the case of that movie everyone has seen. It starts off ok, it starts to get good in the middle, you move towards a new arc and it's pulling you in...then it stops. It ends so badly it ruins the entire experience.
Awakening had a ton I liked. I liked the new conversation system, just not as a standalone system. It would be great to see DA2 use a 50/50 Origins/Awakening convo system. Nathaniel and Justice were just AWESOME characters, and other than Morrigan and maybe (maybe!) Alistair, the best NPCs in Dragons Age. Sigrun was pretty cool too. The new specializations were awesome and better than Origins on the whole story-wise, just balanced for utter crap. The Heraldry option was fantastic. And the story was building to something really awesome, it just needed another 10-12 hours on the game at the very least. The Architect had..literally..1 minute of screen time? The mother even less?
