But that last part was just Game Informer's editorializing the quote. The quote itself just says that the listing on Gamespot's site was in error, not that DA2 isn't going to be at E3, but rather that Gamespot messed up by putting that on their site. Yeah, I'm splitting hairs with semantics but thats all the hope we've got at this point.blademaster7 wrote...

Hehe Ill attempt a small hope reboot:
"We can confirm that the listing of Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 was indeed an error that is currently being corrected," said an EA spokesperson.
It says the listing was an error, not that its not true![]()
...well I tried...sry ^^
"We hate to be the bearers of bad news. Believe us, we'd love to get in on some BioWare action. Unfortunately, E3 2010 will not be the place for it."
I haven't been a big fan of EA's marketing of DA at all going back to last year really and if they don't show anything of the 2/1/2011 title at E3, I'll be freakin' baffled. I know BioWare hasn't said anything about it to get hopes up, but it just seems to make sense for it to be revealed at the show, time wise if nothing else.

So either Monday is Judgment Day or it will be another disappointment of Epic proportions. Not too long though now, hopefully this time MOnday we'll at least know something about whats next for Dragon Age.
I just have a hard time thinking BioWare would skip out on the biggest gaming event of the year for Dragon Age which supposedly has some new game coming early next year. They're not going to get a platform this large to tease the next DA title before its release, so why not start the hype train now, unless they aren't confident in it? I guess if the game isn't ready to show they'll just do a trailer or something, but to just be totally mum on it all together? Surely BioWare isn't that aloof, are they?

Even if the game isn't ready to be shown to the public, we could at least get the official confirmation that it's in the works.
I have a hard time imagining that an event like E3 could pass without Bioware making any kind of announcement concerning DA.

Depends on how far in development they are.

Unless they're really overhauling the visuals and such, you'd think they'd have something fairly ok to show or at least have a gameplay video. I mean it is a sequel and they've got the foundation laid already, so it should be easier to just make more content, right?
But yeah, all I want is an announcement of some significance otherwise my excitement over future DA stuff will just evaporate for the forseeable future.

Forum drama? I'm confused...I thought they were talking about the news that DA2 wasn't going to be revealed at E3.
Ah well, I'm confused, kind of like when I was romancing Morrigan too lol. Why are the best romances in the game the most confusing?

At this point it's a fair guess if we'll get anything DA related.
I'm still hoping something may be revealed, regardless of how small.

And then they got a call from EA telling them to remove it because it's a secret...
Well, that was my attempt at being positive. How did I do?

Why would gamespot list the games for exhibition? I'm starting to think they didn't make it up nor did they make a mistake. DA2 wasn't even announced yet, it is supposed to be a secret. Surely a credible(I'd like to think anyway) site like gamespot would know better than to list a non-existant game, right?

You almost had me there.
The only facts we have right now are:
1) Writers are working on DA2. No idea about the current state of the project or it's release date.
2) Something Dragon Age related is supposed to come out next year, as hinted by Awakening flier. So far we got no official reply that this has been changed, delayed or canceled.
Guess that means we might hear something at E3 but it won't be the official reveal of DA2. Most likely we'll get some news about upcoming DLC, if lucky.

Well I think in the Mass Effect forums someone posted something that showed how Gamespot had a similar E3 map last year and also posted games on it that ended up not being shown at the show. But I have no idea if thats true or not.
But Dragon Age 2 is about as "secret" as Mass Effect 3- everyone knows they're working on it, they just haven't officially said so yet. But even then, like I mentioned in my mega post a couple pages back, Zeschuk has referred to Dragon Age 2 by name as has Patrick Weekes, one of BioWare's writers.
ANd like I mentioned a couple pages ago, there is that chat from Eurogamer with Ray Muzyka where when asked if BioWare would have E3 reveals, he simply states "Yes!" So thats got to be something, right? EIther thats something DA, ME or totally new IP, as TOR has already been revealed and known about for almost 2 years now.
Its entirely possible DA2 won't be at a booth at E3 with a demo or anything, but to totally rule out a reveal/announcement and maybe a trailer or brief gameplay video? EVen with the EA statement saying Gamespot was wrong, they're saying Gamespot was wrong to list that info- not that the info regarding DA2 or ME3 was itself wrong. Maybe thats just semantics, but another site (can't remember which) posted the same story and claimed an EA rep only gave them a "no comment."
And for what its worth Gamespot also had a Dead or Alive 5 for Tecmo on their E3 map and have taken that down too. So who knows?
