But Morrigan doesn't even know if Flemeth is her real mother or not.

She doesn't really say that, just that she considers Flemeth her mother because "'twas she who raised me."

Edit:  Carryover of rule on the Zevran thread that you have to post a sexy screenshot if you get the top of the page?  Well, I don't really have a sexy one, so this will have to do.

What were we saying about taking dark-haired hotness in the game where you can find it?  Triple play:

Yes it is quite amusing how quickly a BW-affiliated poster appears on inconsequential or pro-BW threads to garner fan support, yet they continue to steer clear of the many bug-related threads, even if its just to acknowledge that this issues are getting looked into.

I didn't even get into the bug that happens to a City Elf that when you go back to the Alienage with your romance partner, it has ALISTAIR asking about your betrothal instead of your romance partner, and if Ali isn't in the party, it gives a glitched screen.  Plus the female warden romancing Zevran dialog options were messed up.  Yes, I fixed it, and it works for Morrigan as well (yes, there's a line in there of hers you've probably never heard).

*grin* Give me an inch when it comes to ranting, I'll take a mile.  I did all this for FREE, but it only helps PC users.  People on the consoles are SOL :crying:

Edit: It's sad that the people who were paid to do this didn't!

Well this is the problem - its a different ball game now, this isn't the time of BG2 where the fans can fix everything up for everyone - anyone playing on a console is truly screwed. BW has developed a multiplatform title and one could argue from a moral standpoint that  they have an obligation to fix up a faulty product to ensure that everyone is on a level playing field. Of course from a more realistic, business standpoint BW & EA are most likely not obligated to do anything.

Considering that fans have fixed up / are currently fixing many of the dialogue issues, what's BW's legal standpoint - are they able to use/ask to implement fan made fixes into an official patch for all platforms or is there an impediment to letting them do this? Outside of potential legal issues, it's all for the betterment of the game and the franchise in general and I can't see fans who have slaved away creating fixes not wanting to see them getting included in a prospective official patch. It just seems to me like it'd take a single dev one afternoon to amalgamate the various fixes into a single official patch.

Yeh, but but but... Here's a shameless plug for one of the alpha kisses Charsen did (human female) when the warden tells Zevran she hopes he knows that she loves him.  It's a far different feeling.  Really, getting the friendly dialog at that point really soured the romance for a lot of people.

I also think this stuff should be fixed.  It's game changing.  It's not people whining.  These are major, known, easily fixed bugs.

Alistair always seems to know about the ritual at that point. Whether you told him or not... lol

If you didn't tell him, he'll know nothing at the coronation however.

Does the mod fix all these issues or just Zevran's?

The Alistair fixes are not as well tested, but yeh, my mod fixes a ton of things.  Including Alistair referring to himself as king when he's not.  You know, I'm actually not sure if I caught all the not knowing about the ritual flags, but I have no real way of testing it since I have no male characters there.  I was more concerned with getting out all the references to him being king.

Edit: My linky to Zevran Dialog Fix is safe, and lists all the fixes I made.  I've toyed with changing the name since it's not Zevran exclusive, but I like the name.

How do you find these things in the toolset anyway? I have it but I don't really know how to use it :P

Do you know how to open the conversations?  The two places I messed with were the conversation files and the scripting files.  I can't play with the cutscenes to save my life!  This may be a good place to start, but it also is quite confusing.  I'm not sure what you can and can't do.

Edit: I bled all over the forums when I saw the proper dialogs at the gate.  I couldn't believe that that made it through QA.

I would be more adventurous in messing around with the toolset, but I fear I would irrevocably mess up the game somehow...

Don't save your changes. Or better yet, don't check stuff out; that way you can't make changes!

Edit: You can't screw up your game.  Mods have to be put into the /override folder, it's not going off the toolset.  The worst you can do really is corrupt the data base and be forced to reload the toolset to restore it.

I suppose so long as I have my save games copied, the worst that could happen by messing around in the toolset would be I'd need to re-install Origins if stuff really hit the fan...

It wouldn't happen. To either. The toolset doesn't affect the game. To mod a game, you need to export your changed files from the toolset, and place them in one of your "override" folders. And if it acts up, all you have to do is take it out again.

Though backups are never a bad idea.

Ha! Found the dialogues.

I don't how how to edit them however. I can only read them.

There is indeed a flag attached to the dialogue with Morrigan after the gates but now I'm looking at her other dialogue.

There are some VERY interesting dialogues with Morrigan. Did you guys know there is actual discussion if you take her to Flemeth's hut? "Why did you bring me here" or something like that(apparently Flemeth doesn't show up).

Also, after you leave the hut(if she's at camp) she was supposed to confront you and ask you what happened.

Why did they cut these?

Yes, unless you "check out" a specific file, they open up as "read only" in the toolset. Plus, you can back up the file you "check out" first. If you really think you messed up, just delete it, and restore the back-up.

It's a double safety net, but I am really paranoid when it comes to messing with game files.

I read somewhere here that you all want a "Morrigan" thread. All you really have to do is change the thread title, and leave it at that. Our Zevran thread didn't start out the way it ended up either.

Just make sure people know that the title has, or will, change so they won't wonder where Morrigan went - again.

Post them!  Post them!  Also, any VO notes that seem interesting.  I love reading those.

Are you sure they're cut? I'll look at them.

Edit: Wow, these are a mess.  Hmmmm. I'll double check to make sure they don't trigger.  It looks like there was an error in the scripting notes that then got translated.

If you want to copy/paste conversations, you will have to "check out" the file first. Then you can copy/paste into the notepad.
It's a bit clunky, because you have to do it line by line this way. Maybe Ejo knows a quicker one, but unless you 'check out' the file (right-click it and a menu will pop up) you can't copy/paste.

Very interesting indeed, I wonder if there are associated voiceovers for those lines hidden away somewhere, if not that'd probably be the reason for the cuts.

Hmmm, no, it looks fine.  Are you sure it doesn't trigger? I've never taken her there.  I'm not sure I have a save in the appropriate place, but provided the scripts are ok, it should work as planned.

Edit: This confrontation happens at the hut.  It cannot happen at camp, which is why it checks to see if the player is at camp.

The conversation blademaster is referring to has never triggered for me on either 360 or PC across multiple playthroughs, bringing morrigan to Flemeth's hut results in... well, complete silence.

I think I found the error. It's really bad if it fixes it. Anyone have a save near there?

Edit: When you arrive there, it clears the action it is supposed to be setting instead of setting it.

The dialogue is in the toolset but not in the game.

If you go to the hut with her Flemeth isn't there and Morrigan asks you why did you bring her there.

If you go with out her and finish the quest she confronts you the next time you go to camp and asks you what happened.

Obviously, those scenes were cut from the game... but you can read them in the toolset

No, I think it's a stupid error.  A VERY stupid error.  I'm exporting what should fix it right now.

Edit: If what I did works, it most definitely was not supposed to be cut from the game.

Second edit: And yes, the VO is there.  Ok, hopefully I have a save that can do this.

Third Edit: I was right.  It's fixed.  Any other requests?
