This is sorta how I feel right now about everything BioWare has said about this "Sequel".

He is a hero of Kirkwall, a town in Free Marches, that there's nothing remarkable about (as far as we can tell).
Our Warden was the Hero of Ferelden, an entire freaking COUNTRY.
Going from that to Kirkwall feels like falling from a tree to land on your head.
Also, how is he cupposed to acquire power? He'll rule one of the city-states in the Free Marches? He'll unite all the city-states into a country?
Well, nice. It's not like we could become a ruler of an entire kingdom in DA:O, right? Oh, wait...
Seriously, nothing so far has given us any reason to believe DA2 will be an epic, world changing story or that Hawke will be the most important character in DA2.
Maybe I'm missing an important pievce of the picture, but this is how I see it now.
EDIT:
Come to think of it, Bioware should be proud of themselves.
With a single announcement they managed to make 5 biggest threads on these forums (Alistair, Zevran, Leliana, Morrigan and Master Race) turn into a river of tears.
Now, is that epic or what?

It's like somebody read my mind and then did the exact opposite of that.
Yup...seriously this is every single thing I was hoping would NOT be in DA2. At least its not cel-shaded.
Hell, DA3 is probably going to have multiplayer or be an MMO...
Oh and it just dawned on me what the first screens remind me of- The Old Republic.

It's brillant in it's execution, all 5 are united by a single thought.

While I find the statement of "Lulz you are the most important and most powarfull SOB evar!!" to be a very meeh marketing strat, the only thing I am currently looking forward to is to explore City States dynamics and hopefully what political intrigues they would have. I am glad we get to explore the Free Marches.

Now I REALLY don't want to see Morrigan in DA2. Imagine the poor guy wasting his life looking for her in Orlais and then Mike accidentally bumps into her... in the Free Marches.
Things are getting worse and worse with each and every announcement
**** it!

Oh, I'm more then happy to see a different part of Thedas.
It's just that right now I can't see how this story is supposed to be more epic then the one in DA:O.
May Bioware prove me wrong, but right now I'm chucking up the whole "most important story and most important character in DA" line as a pure marketing ploy to get the kids excited.

Welcome to the club.
Glad to see we all agree over something.

But I digress for the sake of unity. Should we all do the Last March of the True Fans and yell "Death" as we charge into the Bros horde?
